Whats the percentage of fuel pumps failures on 335?
I was wondering what the percentage of fuel pump failures on the 335
is it 1 out of 10 or is it more than that. Im closing in on 4500 miles and Im anticipating my fuel pump to blow since my car has been giving me alot of problems already. |

1% - 3%, based on fuel pump parts orders / sales of 335s. It will go higher as more 335s accumulate mileage, although it does seem to be a problem that emerges fairly early. Not many failures on cars with more than 10k miles, although the N is still small.

Seems to be about 85%...
At least that's the perception here if you read one horror story after another, not realizing that e90 is a tiny little portion of total e9Xs on the road. Then Figure in all the fuel pumps that Proceed, exceed, Blah Blah Blah have killed... Pretty much I think the total for the real world is something like 4-5% or so, someone worked up the number here on the forums and that is about what you are looking at I think. Makes sense, and explains why there is no recall as of yet. Far more concerning to me is the power steering pump pulley issue...

This would also show up as more failures in states that follow CARB air standards, Cali, the northeast, etc. AFAIK, only those states require oxygenate in the gas.

USA is a big market, but not the main one Its the biggest single market for things like the 7 Series, but not the 3, and if you add european countries together they blow the US out the water.

BMW doesn't have a handle on this issue. Check this thread out. Even one person got the issue on 535. I am thinking of delaying buying 335 Coupe now seriously.
