Battery Recall Service - Anyone else get a stuck driver side cup holder?
As the title suggests, went in for battery recall service/free oil change - the next day I noticed my driver side cup holder (ironically on the passenger side of my car) is stuck. Car is going in Tuesday to be fixed for free.
Anyone else have this happen?

Mine is hard to open and close too since having the recall done. I have yet to look at it, but I plan too try to fix it myself before I take it in again. Should be an easy fix and hopefully I won't have to take it back to the dealer.

They need to rip the dash apart and pull the glovebox to get to the junction box, if you have trim removers you can pull the trim and reinstall it, it is probably off center a fraction of an inch

Oh wow - didn't know they took the dash apart. Thank you for this - this is helpful! Now I can fix it myself if it happens again in the future

Yes, mine won't come out and I couldn't figure out why it started all of a sudden! Makes perfect sense, thanks.

Both of my cup holders appear to function properly after the recall fix, I guess I was lucky enough the bmw techs put it back together properly. I didn't know they had to pull the dash and trim apart - I just had the trim wrapped and I'm very glad they didn't scratch it or anything.

I fixed this today. It took me about 5 minutes. I just pried the black trim piece around the cup holders off with a trim tool and removed the driver side cup holder. There was a small wire harness behind it that wasn't quite tucked into the clips that hold the wires all the way. (I think it was the wires for the glove box light.) I am not sure if the wire was actually interfering with the cup holder or whether it was just binding because it wasn't installed straight.
