Vanos filter

Those of you that have been getting jammed vano code, check your non return valve it might be clogged as mine was. It might be a good idea to clean these along with your solenoid.

There is two of them on top of each other. It is number 7 on the diagram. You will have to remove the wire bracket to get the top one out.

Longnvu how many miles did you have when you discovered that? And what is your oil change interval?

That looks horrible.

Thanks! No codes thrown for it, but it has been added to my to-do list.

As per my thread, I suspect that this part is so cheap in most regions that it is just more sensible to replace rather than clean.

What I would like to know, how much oil came out when you removed these Check Valves? I am going to have to take mine out to inspect and most likely replace, but don't want to make a huge oily mess - it looks like this might be easier to do with the forward wheel well liner removed on the exhaust side, not sure if this is the case.

After fitting, did you disable ignition so that the engine could just crank a few times to get oil back into the head before actually firing the engine up properly? The parts guy at a dealership recommended this.

did you have to remove the valve cover to gain access to this?

Did your car show any symptoms or did you just randomly check it out?
