Driver's side front and rear footwells are soaked!

I've been searching for hours now with everything talking about the passenger side leaking. But my front and rear driver side foot wells have a substantial amount of water in them.

I'm thinking of checking the sun roof drains as well as the vapor barrier in both doors. Has anyone else seen this with both front and back and possibly anything else to check?

By any chance did you have your windshield replaced or cabin filter replaced recently? I have seen cases where the cowl that covers the cabin filter wasnt properly sealed which allowed water to go in through the vent where ac blower sucks in the air. However, that was the case with the passenger side area.

YMMV...but worth a quick check.

Check your door seals and make sure they are properly seated. another problem could be a gasket came loose on firewall.

where are the sunroof drains for these cars? I know that was a common reason why the foot wells would be wet in my old a4.

Thanks,

Neither have been replaced recently. And my search had also shown this would lead to the passenger area as well.

Thanks for the responses.

Yes firewall would allow enough water to leak in to flood back as well. As for the doors they are the rubber trim pieces pic below. Is your trunk flooded as well? and did this happen after rain or wash?

Thanks. Trunk has no water. It's just the footwells in front and rear. I also checked under the seat, no water. Just the wells. I was leaning towards the vapor barriers in the doors for that reason.

So I verified the vapor barriers as well as the drains in the sunroof and doors. All are working as designed. I got it all dried up and took it to the car wash and noticed a bit more new water coming from what seemed to be behind the accelerator pedal. I'm assuming that is an entry point and possibly a grommet is supposed to be there? Does anyone know if this is accessible from the inside or am I better off taking off the cowl to check it out?
