Anybody like the interior of the E90

The dash is to simple, the gauges forget about. The inside of the doors look way to cheap, doen't well with the dash.

I like it because it is simple and I do not think it looks cheap, JMO!

My goodness. I don't see too many cars on the market that can match the fit, finish, feel and quality of the 3-series interior, save for perhaps VW and Audi. Look at most of the Japanese and American car makes and you'll notice how all the interior plastic is hard to the touch or hollow.

I believe what you have a problem with is the simple layout in contrast to the e46 interior. The e90 interior seems to be a derivative handed down from the e60 layout. Simple, but functional.

The first time I sat in the then new Bangled e60 5-series, I hated the exterior design--too flashly and too Pontiac-like, but to be honest, I loved the interior. I didn't over analyize it; it just felt clean, simple and exuded quality.

I really like the interior of the E90. It has a very minimalistic look, which may turn off some people but works great for me. But, I have recieved many compliments on the black interior with aluminum trim of my car.

Aside from the looks, the ergonomics are almost perfect. I can control everything without much distraction from driving. The iDrive screen is in my line of sight and the control knob is very close to the shifter.

Ha ha. No. I'm taking the piss. I'm not in the habit of buying things I don't like. If I didn't like the complete package that BMW presents us with in the 3 series, I wouldn't have wasted my money.

I got the car eventhough I don't like the interior, because the ride is just simply to amazing, and the exterior is beautiful. I went and test drive the Lexus, doesn't compare when it comes to the ride but the interior is much nicer.

One of my friends owns a Acura TL, and I have to admit, it's a nice interior.

The problem I find with the interior of the e90 is it looks to me like an old Bimmer.

When I both the car I though, I was going to get use to it, but I just can't.

Dashboard is to flat! A little bit more creativity, would of been a good thing

A slight digression:

Maybe it's just me, but whenever I sit in the Acura TL, I feel like I'm sitting on the floor, like I'm ready to take off my shoes and eat sushi (not slamming anything Japanese, I love sushi). The BMW seating position seemed more natural.

I really like the seats, the lower central console, the arm rest, the door inserts, and the stalks from the steering wheel. That said, the sun visors, the floor mats, and the upper center console (sun roof control) all feel cheap and weak.

Overall, I do like the interior, but I know what you mean.

The interior isn't bad if you get leather (black, beige or grey for colour code reasons) the cloth interiors don't look to good. However could be improvements in the dash boad. My sun visors have the Anthracite material same as my roof headlining and it works well.

The interior, altough stark compared to other brands, is much improved over E46. Sometimes I read reports that BMW went cheapo this time on interior fittings, but I can't find them. The leather is now a higher grade than before, the fit and finish is still excellent, the plastics are high quality and soft-touch, and the sport steering wheel blows the old sport wheel away. The only places I can see where they screwed up are window switch placements and the plastic HVAC knobs which should have the alumiplastic trim of the 5-Series but don't.

The style of the interior took some getting used to at first, but now...I like it alot. I understand the new flat dashoard arrangement (that was a big complaint) b/c I have i-drive; they couldn't do that and still have the center of the dash angled toward the driver, so its a compromise.

Compared to my E46, which is rotting away in the garage as we speak, the interior is leaps and bounds better. When I drive the old car on the weekends, the interior looks plain and cold.

Just my 2 cents...

It has really grown on me. I'd like a bit more storage space. I don't smoke so the giant ass ashtray is a bit of a waste of space. I also wish they had put the DVD for the nav system somewhere else, (the trunk maybe) since I'll only be accessing it like once a year.

I do enjoy the look though. Very simple and functional. I have the aluminum trim, and at night the ambient light looks really cool reflecting off of it. The sport seats are wonderful, and I for one like the way the I-drive screen is executed.

This is my first BMW, so maybe it's the fact I have no preconceived notions. However, it is taking me forever to get used to the door lock button being located in the center like that. Seriously, I had to pull out the book to find the damn thing the first day I had it.

I LOVE it. There is nothing that you don't need. Well I would like better cup holders. Besides that I think it's perfect.

Have you considered using the idrive to simply program the automatic door locking? I used to not lock on E36, but have now set E90 to lock once car is moving.

BMW took a risk with the exterior, and according to me they did an excellent job, but then when I look at the interior, it looks as if they were afraid to take a risk. The interior doesn't seem to go with the exterior.

When you look at exterior, you expect the interior to be just as nice.

As if they were afraid of shocking to many people.

The interior lights, to me look cheap.

The cupholders are a complete disaster, there's not a lot of storage space.

Just on top where the air vents are, right in the middle of the dash, they should have put a clock there.

Without the iDrive it looks empty.

Just little thing that they could have done, that could have made a difference.

Little touches that the Japanese don't seem to ignore.
