I am currently running a square setup, style 287 wheels (4 fronts) which are 8x8 Inch, 34 offset, and 5x120mm Bolt Pattern. These specs match the newer F30 style 400m front wheels exactly. Is there any difference between the style 287 fronts and the style 400m fronts? Lug bolt length or diameter maybe? I am considering new wheels and I like the style 400m wheels a lot.

I noticed that the rear wheels have much different offsets - 39 for style 287 and 47 for the 400m. Is this because they changed the rear track/suspension between the E90 and the F30?

They'll fit but you'll need a 10-20mm spacer for the rear because they'll be really sunken in

Lug seat depth should be very similar on your current wheels on the Style 400s, nothing really to worry about there. The F30 does use a M14 lug bolt (vs the E9X M12) but that's not really going to be much of an issues, you'll just stick with the bolts spec ed for your car.

But as the guys said, you'll want to run spacers for a better look. 10s and 20s as wdeerfield suggested should give the wheels a rather nice stance.

TPSM sensors are model specific not wheel specific. Utilize E9X sensors on your E9X.

A couple of follow up questions if you do not mind:

My e90 with sports package has style 195 wheels:
Front: Wheels: 8x18, ET 34; Tires: 225/40-18
Back: Wheels: 8,5x18, ET 37; Tires: 255/35-18

My tire installer recently advised my one front and back rims are bent from potholes from the winter. Rather than having them reparied, I am considering to acquire a squared set of F30 wheels 18x8 ET 34 like style 397, 416 or 400m (easier to find used ones for F30 than E90, easier to find squired ones than staggered and longer tire life):

(1) Do you know if there are any issues switching from a staggered set up to a squared one? Any other pros/cons/considerations?

(2) Do 225x45x18 tires that normally come with the aforementioned rims on F30 work for the E90? If not, should a squired set be 225/40-18?

A square tire setup sometimes will induce a little less understeer into the handling characteristics of the car, it's not really a good or bad thing it's just what they do. Pro's you can easily rotate tires, cons handling will be a little different.

225/45/18 will be a little tall for the E9X, I'd lean towards going with the 225/40/18 squared over the 225/45
