Need Help

Just finished taking apart dash and console in order to hide wires for aftermarket Sirius receiver and noticed something "odd" after putting everything back.

I have steptronic. Is the orange light next to Park supposed to remain ON after you lock the car?? This is the light next to the shifter.

I noticed that the Start button remains lit but goes out after a few seconds.

Can someone help me out and check on on your steptronic?
