Like the page says, its only up to date with the January 2005 version of the BMW information CD.

My E90 330i VIN # comes up as an E46 318td so that page is clearly not set up to decode E90 VIN #'s yet. You shouldn't worry. I don't think you have the wrong VIN or a 2005 car

I do.
I got a P for plant location. Also, my dealer didn't give me all 17 digit, they gave me the last 7 and said everything in front is the same. So I looked up someone else's vin and copied it. Problem is I realized there's a check digit in there, so I tried searching on yahoo from 0-9 and only number 1 pulled up a report, so I'm assuming thats it. When I tried to register on bmw owner's club it still says the vin is invalid.

Is there a reason for multiple codes for the same place. For example, Munich has A, F, and K. Are there three different plants in Munich? Or maybe one large plant, but three different assembly lines? Thanks.

They ran out of old ones, the VIN has a specific length

New cars will only have the newer letters
