That would suck if you have a bent drive shaft or half shaft. Not impossible. Would cause a lot of vibration...

But only under certain amounts of load? It doesn't do it all the time, just at WOT in higher gears (3-6) in any RPM below 4k.

hi Kaiser, i have similar problem with my car (335d) when accelerating from low rpms in 5 and 6 (autobox), car vibrates slightly (when reaching top torque i guess) then theres a weird sound like thumping rattle too, once revs go higher its gone but worries me a lot :/ i have replaced both wheel bearings and rear suspension bushes but it is still there, my car was mapped few weeks ago and wondered if this can be an issue?! did you get this fix by any chance? do anyone knew what it was? thanks in advance for any news. Regards

It's the dmfw. I have the same exact issue under load. If I'm banging through the gears I'm perfectly fine......but when loading the drivetrain in a high gear at a low rpm I'll get the vibration/noise around the tranny area.
I have noticed that when running e85 (more torque/hp) the noise is more prevalent. Now when running just 93oct I don't have the same issues. I too have a act clutch with dmfw. The clutch has 10k miles and drives great! But next time I'm going with spec and a smfw. I'm almost 100% you have the same issue as i do.

For me, it ended up being a combination of the DMFW and....spark plugs. Seriously. A new SMFW helped a lot- but sparkplugs made the vibration go away 100%

Great to know! Glad the smfw was the fix. That's my next purchase.
