FIX for: tarnished/stained "aluminum" window trim

I've seen countless threads discussing this, and even agonized over it myself with a multitude of different metal polishes/ compounds to no avail. I actually did this about a month ago, but wanted to give it some time to make sure this was a permanent "fix," if you will.

Anyway, I had my FLEX out one Friday evening doing a paint correction/detail on the 335. I was working with some HD Uno polish on an orange cutting pad and decided to give it a try on the trim. Working on speed 6 I went over the trim with light to moderate pressure. VOILA!!! I buffed the excess polish off with a microfiber and the water spotting/tarnished look was gone! I then sealed the trim with HD Poxy sealant on a black finishing pad, let it set up for 10-15 minutes and hand buffed it off.

It's been roughly a month and I have not seen any of the water spotted/tarnished look returning. If anyone has any questions please feel free to fire away and I'll try to be of as much help as I can.

I'm definitely interested in this... I also have the water stains, etc.

Can you post specifically what you used?

What he said. http://www.hdcarcare.com/

HD "Uno" is their polish/light cutting product. Similar to a Klass AIO type.

HD "Poxy" is their sealant/wax product.

Is there a vinyl coating on the aluminum trim? If so, if you polish that away you will have to continue to seal it w/ wax to prevent corrosion/oxidation.

I did not notice any coating on the trim. Nothing that I could see was being removed by the polish. The whole process took probably all of 5 minutes so if I have to do it 2 or 3 times per year then that is perfectly fine by me.
