Well, you have a good point about keeping the stock woofers "safe" by replacing them. I think though that any reasonable adult would not be able to blow these with a high-pass set around 60 - 80 Hz, but I could be wrong.. (and I have been wrong before, unfortunately!)

It is impossible to tell over the forums, or in person, which people are reasonable adults... as two decades in car audio have taught me. For my business, I find it best to not depend on judgement and rather to make things robust and durable. |

300w to sub 200w (each) to SSMB8 75w (each) to Rainbow SLC 210.25 ~18w (each) to center and rears from MS-8 power Do you consider that balanced? JT will make an MDF spacer for whatever you request. He made mine. |

Yeah, my concern is about 600W of W6 bass power and 30W (optimistically) of front mid-and-tweeter power. Your system is using more than 2X as much RMS power on the fronts than his and more than 2X as much on the midbass, as well (and I'm not buying that the MS-8 has any clean headroom at all into a 2-ohm speaker). The center and rear effects/side speakers only play steering effects material and are not tasked with much in the way of loading. It's the fronts that get the bulk of the load.

Should I swap the XD200/2 for a XD600/6? Power the front R/L with 2-channels and Bridge the remaining 4 for the midbass under the seats? I guess so.. They were delivered the other day and seem to fit.

I am not saying that you want to amplify the OEM mids and tweeters with more power. I AM saying that you are planning on using a really LOUD subwoofer and 600W on it, and I suspect that you won't be able to use much of the capability of either component without outstripping the capability of the front speakers and turning into a bass-generating machine. More likely the MS-8 just won't calibrate in such a way that you can get that much out of it, and if you want more you're going to have to jack with it.
I know that here, at our shop, I would not suggest a 600W amp and a W6 with the MS-8 power. I'd either upgrade the front door speakers and add an amp for them, or I'd use a less-expensive woofer (but one where you will get your money's worth out of it). By the way, the recommended internal volume of the enclosure you mention is only 60% of the recommended volume for that woofer. |

OK, I think I will swap in the XD600/6 to power the fronts and underseat speakers. If the OEM speakers give me problems I will swap them out.
BTW... Wicked CAS Volume : .75cu. ft. 10w6v2 recommended : .625cu. ft. only a 17% delta, not 40% :P

Some people like the bass to blend with the rest of the speakers. In that case 300W on the sub and with the L7 speakers on MS-8 power is enough. Other people like for the bass to overwhelm the other speakers. In that case 600W is fine. But then again, double the power is "only" 3dB more...
My personal experience is this: With the MS-8 driving all interior speakers, I never felt the need to crank it all the way. And it sounded good, even at ear-piercing volume. A single 12" in a sealed Best Buy enclosure and 300W was underwhelming. A single 10" woofer in a corner-loaded enclosure with 300W is just right for me. The latter gives you a good back massage, with almost zero rattles inside and outside the car. A box with 2 12" woofers and 1000W firing towards the back of the trunk is the loudest, but the rattles, inside and outside the car, are horrendous. It seems that the corner-loaded application is able to "focus" its energy on the inside of the cabin, and not inside the trunk, whereas all other solutions will release most of the energy inside the trunk, and then some of it will trickle through inside the cabin. But for me there is no "formula" or "rule" regarding how many watts should be dedicated to the cabin speakers, and how many to the trunk sub. It all boils down to the required volume level at the listening position, and the required energy from the sub.

Thought theirs also had a 12". Our e92 has a 12. My mistake. 12w6 wants 1.25. BTW, I measured that enclosure space, and I would be really amazed to find that you could get .75cf with the door in.

They only have one and it's for a 10" - I misread their site. Again, my apologies.
We thought about using that approach for the E92, but we ended up going like this: This displaces the battery door, but still doesn't encroach on the cargo floor. The mounting bracket wasn't bolted to the car since this was a test fit. This works excellently volume-wise with an ID12, W3, W6 if you must, or Morel Ultimo 12. I got everything installed but have not had much time to really tune the thing, and it seems to missing some midbass. Seems everyone with the MS-8 is having midbass issues.
I might be selling the car, so this system will most likely be sold: JL 600/6 JL 600/1 10w6 w/ WickedCAS box JBL MS-8 Kicker SSMB8
