Okay, looks like I'm in. I guess we're meeting 15 minutes beforehand, along the road going into the parking lot? Or should we just plan on meeting in the lot?
My car will be dirty, unfortunately, with this rain and me having to park outside. Shim will be detailing it on Monday, though.

dont eat before you go AJ, food was coming out the kitchen like theres no tomorrow, from breakfast thru lunch and desserts.
Massages are available too. I suggest setting an appointment, go out a drive and make your massge appt time. the track was well setup, and these lexus cars are great! a much better experience over our rev-it-up, car and driver or maybe mazdas zoom-zoom. have fun!

Can we have a report from anyone who went today? What cars were there? What was the format?

i really advise for your guys to bring a healthy appetite. Its food was like a wedding reception, first class act. The cars and the length of the autox tracks was pretty generous too~ its the best Ive seen. pls take photos and plan to spend the rest of the day! dont forget to schedule your free massages before you head out for your drive!

It was cold as hell on sstaurday. Nevertheless, it was fun and the food was good, nice refreshments, decent track length, and overall nice atmosphere. The wait time for the drive obviosly depends on the car to be driven, but I ended up only driving two of the vehicles; the IS350 and S550.
The IS is super quick and it actually handles pretty well too! The S550 was a huge car, but it also hedled decently. I didn't thrash it around like the IS though, because I didn't want to be the guy who wrecked the $88K+ car. I hope you all had fun today!!!

Apologies guys for missing everyone this morning. Let's just say that yesterday was the Cap City Octoberfest in Shirlington. Yes, it was a looooong afternoon and well into the evening.
I rolled out of bed this morning, and decided to sleep on the floor till I woke up. Worst part is that the charity golf tournament that was supposed to be held yesterday was rained out. You can guess the reschedue date ... Oct 22nd! |

it was blast to drive all new lexus line-ups
Especially, S550 and IS350 were my favorites. even I drive my IS350 everyday!! I never get to do stupid things on road, abuse my car, but 07 IS350 was a little different than my 06. They had VDIM turn off switch instead of Trac off, which is just the traction control off. Also, it was nice to meet some people from our board. Enjoy the rest of your beautiful sunday! -John |

Hey guys, I had a blast. Much better than the C&D event, since we had the ability to just go to whatever car we wanted. That IS350 is sick. I'm looking forward to seeing the video of Donny driving.
As John said - the IS350 had a "fully turn off" button for traction control, which must be a change for the '07 model. Thanks, AJ, for pointing it out. For those who didn't go, we basically had the full lineup of Lexus cars to drive, even the LS460 that isn't out yet. The IS350 was (for me) by far the most fun to drive, and I drove it twice. Also drove the IS250, GS450h, ES350, SC430 convertible, BMW 750i, MB S550 (twice), and... what else? That may have been all I drove. I didn't want to stand in line for the LS460, so I didn't drive it, but I sat in it. The Lexus leather is PLUSH. Weather was perfect and food was terrific. We beat on every car, including the $90,000 cars. Every time we came back to "pit road," I was worried the powers that be would say, "That's it. You're done." But they didn't seem to mind. Also - John - it was nice to see your 335i. Donny - sorry I didn't get a chance to show off my car to you. I saw your Blackline tail lights in the lot and they look great. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again on the 22nd! Sorry we'll miss AJ at that meet.

To piggyback on what Brian said, I thought it was a well put together event. DIdnt have to pay a dime for it, and I enjoyed the atmosphere and good food (even though I didnt go back for 16 rounds of food)...
Driving... It was obvious the event was centered around the new LS (and rightfully so). I, like Brian, did not get the chance to drive the LS due to its long line. But I did drive the BMW 750i and the MB S550 (twice). I hate to say it, but I was somewhat dissapointed in the BMW, and really enjoyed to driving characteristics of the S class. The 7 series was minimally equipped, and I think it would have been much better with the sport package and a few other items... I also took out the ES350 (I believe it was), LS430, and the GS hybrid. The ES was almost a joke on the track (FWD and 215 width tires), but it was fun trying to control that car. The GS wasnt that bad. I am waiting for Donny to post the video of me thrashing that car around the track (wait for me to be yelling at the traction control)... The highlight for me was driving the IS350. It is certainly a nice car, and loads of pickup, even in comparison to the IS 250. I figured out how to turn off the TC on the first few rounds on the track, but for some reason they kept checking my car at the start to ensure it was on after my first few runs... Overall a good day... Donny, cant wait for the vids... |

The event was Awesome and the food was good. I saw Ase2dais on Sat. and chatted for a bit. We both drove the MB s550. I have to say, I like the BMW 750i much better...
