Post Speakers not playing audiomaking screeching/ popping sound

Hello this is a post about my friends car he just purchased, he recently acquired a 2010 335I Convertible but all of the sudden his radio is not playing sound and the speakers are making a screeching sound. The car is equipped with the HiFi Speaker system S676 and we would just like to have this issue fixed.and help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First think to check is water on the amplifier , it's a common problem.
For the 676 system you can get factory amps cheap on ebay and there
is just one connector with a lever to replace them .
Might be time to upgrade if you want better sound.

Go to the stereo sub forum for further info on that.

Early 2010 models in the US had the ampless base system or the 677 Logic 7 system up until 2011.5

It may be related to the fiber optic loop, if one component fails then the sound sometime stops functioning. In my case, I had sound, but I heard a constant pop and once in a while a screech. My satellite receiver stopped functioning and I used this to fix it.

I’ll check this with him today where is the satellite receiver located at? And with the screeching and popping for him it’s not once and a while it’s pretty constant
