I would add - the pics make it look particularly low at the back because of the angle of my driveway, but on level ground the back is still noticeably lower than any M sport I've seen.

Also, my sig is on previous SE suspension.

Do it once do it right get some KW's or Bilsteins Coilovers.

I have to say after doing mine the ride is amazing. So much more compliant and comfortable, smoothing out all but the harshest roads. Yet performs very well for track/spirited driving. I thought that i was going to sacrifice some comfort when going to Coilovers but was completely wrong. The M sport dampers are not up to UK roads IMO.

If budget is tight some AP Coilover might suite. Think you can get those for less than £500 delivered.

Makkan,

Did you get a chance to check the writing on the springs before they were fitted to your car? It looks higher than usual for an M-Sport when compared to mine on SE suspension - I only notice as we both have 19's and so its much easier to compare:

This was mine on SE springs - they say C2 and C4 on them (can't remember which was front and which was rear). Sport springs I think are D2/4/5.

Rears: C1 -->D3
Fronts: C something to D something.

Rear shocks were already M sports ones on SE, and differences were springs and dampers only. Cannot comment on front one though, as I did not had enough time to compare those.

What rubber are you on?

B/W you are lucky as getting away with those tinted front glasses.

I'm on the 265 rear 235 front combo that alot of people have.

The D springs are certainly the right ones. Maybe its a bit higher as the springs are new. I'm pretty certain that my car didn't sit as low it did when it rolled out of the factory so they must drop abit over time/miles.

You are right about the tints - been very lucky. The car came like that so i've left it as is, and I've been pulled about 6 times because the police are checking all BMW's regularly in my area due to all of the stolen ones of late.

Thanks for the free plug on my personal own branded Coilies

No but seriously if you are interested in the AP's here is some more info from our forum our trusty E90 Masons brotherhood.

Yeah if he wants bigger drop than m-sport . Sportline will give him big difference . Pro-kit is very like m-sport look drop i would say with new springs back sits higher than m-sport even.

I do not think drop from Eibach pro kit is enough, to be fair.
That was my last E92.

The H&R's do give a great drop, but as I've often said, the ride is very hard, and with the car sitting so low it doesn't make it the most practical of daily drivers.

I'd recommend coilovers if at all possible, best of all worlds if you don't scrimp on the cost, you do get what you pay for.

Now considering
H&R
Front: 45mm Rear: 30mm

VS
Eibach Sports line
Front: 45-50mm Rear: 35mm

Has anybody tried Eibach Sports line?

How are they compared to H&R?

Thanks.

Can you definitely get the Sportlines? For 100% certain they aren't available for the 330d, I'm not sure if it's just for the heavier engines or for the whole E9x range.

Ok my slant....

I had a right headache with mine, but that was with the installation anyways... I had the Eibach pro kit. Once the geo was reset properly I wasnt overly impressed with the drop. However I was a bit premature (doesn't happen often lol). It seemed to take a good 3 weeks of driving, but they have settled lovely now and the car sits just the way I wanted it to. Handling wise you can't really fault Eibach. No harsher than the M Sport setup and slightly better body control with less leaning round bends. I couldn't notice a drop at all on the rear and very minor on the front. now it's blatantly obvious the car is lowered. Back dropped a tad but the front had come down a fair bit and looks lovely.

As a matter of fact the more time goes by and it's got to the stage it is now, and the wheels are starting to sit in the arches better, I now feel like I need 15mm spacers rear and 10mm front after putting the 19"s on.

Bottom line - you WILL notice a drop with the Eibachs but it does take time to settle. H&R's give a lower drop but seem to compromise handling or comfort. Coilovers have great adjustability but this can be their Achilles heel also.

Anyway, mine on Eibachs...
