Turbo Cooler For 335?
Anyone know anything about this? Would it work on our cars?
What type of power gains would this produce? Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks. |

you mean intercooler
depends... seems the norm on the dyno is ~10rwhp and tq gain... i would think you are really getting a little more power on the road from it though |

Are you asking about a system to cool the turbos down after the engine is shut off? I used to have an F250 with the 7.3l turbo diesel. People used to argue about idling the engine for a few minutes rather than coming straight off the the highway and shutting down. The performance tunes for that truck would easily get the egt up into the 1500F range so they offered a timer that would idle the truck to keep the oil circulating, but I don't think that applies to the little turbos in our car.

Isn't there one already in our car? When you turn your car off, go in the back and open the trunk. You can hear a little electronic pump running on the driver side. Could be something else though...

We have everything needed. The turbos are hooked into both the oil and water cooling system. The water pump is electric and helps cool down the turbos after engine shutdown.
"After-running of electric coolant pump = improved heat dissipation from engine switch off point. Allows protection of turbochargers by reduced oil “coking” during heat soak." Read this sticky: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38856 |

Um, that's the cooling fan for the amp. The turbos are under the hood, not in the trunk
