[FREE] 08/10/2013 e9x @ 11am - Central NJ modders meetup!

Hi All,

I would like to start out by giving a special thanks to High Performance Bulbs for helping put together the interior LED kit I will be using and providing some sample color bulbs for us to demo: http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/inledlicoki.html

So I am starting the modders meetup again on August 10th, 2013 and every Saturday this month, for those of you who would like to get some fun work done on your cars in the local area. I'm located across from the parking lot area of Bosco's @ the Woodbridge Mall (07095). It's easier if you come to the parking lot and gimmie a ring and you can follow me back to my condo 20 seconds away. I'm going to keep this post #1 updated with the latest info so you don't have to scroll thru the entire history to get the details of the meetup.

Location: Woodbridge Mall
Time: 11am EDT

Here are some of our past events:
06/16/2013 - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=853204
06/22/2013 - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=854229
06/30/2013 - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=859372
07/07/2013 - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=860377
08/10/2013 - http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=870455

For this event I'm looking to secure some interior LED's and install them in my car. If you guys like the way it looks, we can try to setup a group buy and group install for everyone interested for future meetups. Also, I will try my hand at installing vinyl over my chrome window trim (Depending on time/weather/temp).

Watch/Hang out/Help
1) E90bedi
2) Dark_Knight_335
3) jhilsinho
4) Njprince0226
5) K20soldier (will show up around 2pm)
6) blazex4
7) Didac
8) Teemo Panda - is here now
9)
10)

Mod to install
A) Fazman - Interior LED lights from HPB
B) jhilsinho - Visit for fun, and maybe DCI cleaning (Please bring your stock airbox, filter, and cleaning kit), Rear fog light mod?
C) fc21 - JB4 + DCI + USB to glove box install (will arrive around 1p)
D) Dark_Knight_335 - D1S headlights from HPB
E)
F)
G)

List of things I have experience doing:
1) Installing N54 BMS DCI/N55 BMS CAI
2) Cleaning and re-oiling old Cone intakes (Would require multiple days and we can install your stock intake till you come back for the cleaned cones. Please bring your cleaning kit or plan with me so I can have on ready for you),
3) Rear fog light switch lego mod (usually 2009+ don't need a lego)
4) Installing JB4
5) Installing AE's
6) Installing HID Fog lights
7) Installing new D1S headlight bulbs
8) Installing factory alarm (you will need to find someone to code it for you tho).
9) Installing tint protector/mole skin
10) Changing out the stock HVAC filter or stock airbox filter (this is easy)

Things I plan on doing to my car in the near future:
A) Interior LED lighting (Thanks to HPB)
B) Vinyl my chrome window trim
C) Automatic transmission shifter mod (for pinched wires when switching over to sport mode, seems like a common issue that all e9x automatics have over time)
D) Vinyl my interior trim
E) TBD - Please suggest a mod that you would like to learn together and we can take on the job.

- Faz

Usually people roll in about 11am, would love to have you join us! We can help you do the Rear fog light mod if you like (it's a simple mod). Do you have any mods your interested in for your car you want done? One of the guys here is looking to sell his car and you can probably pick up his JB4 at a good price (Watch it being removed from his car and into your car)?

If only I had known sooner! Haha, struggled but finally upgraded my angel eyes about a month ago. Not really interested in the rear fog light but would be interested in the jb4 that would be for sale. Who might be selling it?

Right now most of the mods I'm looking to install are performance. I picked up a short shifter kit but it proved to be alot harder than working on my previous car. I will text you so that you have my info

Not to worry, I'll be doing these things every Saturday in August. Even after that I plan to do something on most weekends until the weather gets cold outside.

Hi Bahasad,

I'm going to put you down for helping out right now since and I'm not sure if you are intending to bring your own parts to do the installs on your car??? I'm going to send you a PM right now to make sure I track your details correctly.

Hi fc21,

It was great chatting with you and I've updated posting #1 with you on the list for the JB4, we can go over all the details about your car once you arrive. I'll give you a full break down on upgrade paths and maintenance items to look out for.

I'll have the JB4 ready for you as well for install. I'll also look into the short shifter DIY instructions (thanks for sending me that email).

I'm mostly down to meet other E90 owners we rarely have meets in SJ as far as I know. I'm also bringing my own parts hoping to install something?

Sounds good, I've updated the details in the first post with the items you want done. Please do finalize what specific things you want done by about Aug 8th so we can budget time for everyone. Remember you will be working on your car and we will be helping you out. It's all about having fun and learning.

Not a problem... come check out one of our events this month and see what you like from our cars. Then we can plan out an upgrade path for you, so that once you have your ordered parts we can do the DIY installs with you

I'm receiving an AA X-Pipe tomorrow and was planning on installing it at a buddies house on Saturday. I've been looking to meet some local people and make some friends . I would join you guys and install the pipe (and bms dpfix) over there but I don't think the pipe would fit in the m3. I'll give it a try if you have the room for me..? Otherwise, keep me posted and I'll join the next meet!

Hi Jeff,

I think installing a X-pipe would be a little hard in my condo parking area. But if your not to far from the Woodbridge mall area... please come by after your install is done? I'll be doing this on saturday's this month so even if you miss the 10th... you will still have the following saturdays to attend PM me your contact info so I can give you my info as well. I'm sure I could handle doing the DP Fix, but I have never done that on a M3 (Only the N54's).
