URGENT help requested w/ rear spring install

I'm following this DIY:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15397

I've removed the lower strut bolt and the upper sway bar link bolt, but the assembly won't budge when I push down on it. I've put a LOT of force behind it to no avail. Do I have to disconnect anything else? I don't want to start taking stuff apart that I don't have to or that would cause it to all fall apart. Thanks.

did you take the bolt out that holds the lower control arm to the spindle yet? the shock nut and sway bar nut alone will not allow you to do anything

Nope. The DIY doesnt include that one, just the interior bolt of the lower control arm. I thought thats what I needed to do, just trying to break my habit of not following directions...

the bolt on the lower control arm closest to the rotor, 21mm socket and wrench, make sure to put a jack under it to prevent the arm from flying down from the spring, take that nut and bolt off, lower the jack, pull the spring out and finish what you gotta do.

Thanks for the help! That 21mm is being a huge PITA. I have a 21mm wrench but no 21mm socket so I can't use my air tools. Guess I'll be waiting til a friend gets off work and can bring one over. I don't really trust the jackstands to hold up the car with the amount of force I'd have to apply on the bolt otherwise.

At least now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...

put the wrench on, and hit it with a hammer to shock it loose if you can't use air

You shouldn't need air tools to take off that 21mm bolt. I was able to do it with regular hand tools. A breaker bar does help though.

Did the work with the wrench/hammer. I didn't want to just push it really hard because I don't trust jack stands. After I got it initially loose it was easy. Can't wait to take some pics of my mtech tiag lowered on morrs...
