Swiftcover?

What does anyone have to say about Swiftcover? I have recently been getting quotes for renewal on the insurance for my 330d and most are coming in with £950+ (two claims in 2009!! and business use).

However Swiftcover came in with a quote of £450 which is irresistible - but are there any horror stories out there?

ive used them before, had a claim (not my fault) and they seemed good enough with dealing with it. Everything is online aswell so no need to wait for letters etc, just do it all online. Customer services were competant enough too. Not had a claim where i was at fault with them though so cant comment on that.

I'm with them too.

Had to contact them mid policy about change of details and their online help was easy.

Their quotes do seem good at the moment compared to others.

Im with Swift too. £350 for my 2009 330d M Sport auto, fully comp (No points but a £5000 storm damage claim in 2007) plus the misses (2 x SP30 and non-recoverable claim in 2009). I think thats a competitive premium in this day and age.
Ive not had to make a claim through Swift so I cant comment on their claims handling but Ive not come across any bad press on the internet.
They wont allow mods though, so its back to Adrian Flux when I go for the remap.

Remember these insurance companies are now including factory fitted options as declarable mods. Swift, Admiral etc. Also some of the small print says they reserve the right to use recycled parts for repairs. Cheaper for a reason in some cases..

Used them several times now with no issues. Not had to make a claim but their prices are always keen.

I was unaware of that. Just googled it and read up about it.

That's made me feel bad. Better not crash in the remaining few months.

They're also not honouring the long standing new for old replacement if a total loss occurs within the first twelve months on a new car. You'll get market value, big losses if that happens.

With Swift myself, much cheaper, but not had to make a claim. Online stuff works great, and if someone crashed into me, I'll still be claiming on their insurance anyway. Pays yer money and takes yer choice

Was with swift few years ago, pretty good even during a claim. Now use LV £230 on a 330D for bis use but I'm over 50 with Civil service discount. Jusr received my latest which mag and they are recomending John Lewis & NFU.

Good luck

Read the smallprint carefully. Make sure you mod the quick quote comprehensively on the price display page to suit your needs, because the quick quote makes all sorts of assumptions.

Overall though ok. My gf was with them, had an accident, slow to answer the claim phone (35mins on the side of the road on a mobile.) Slow to process the claim, slow to repair the car. But all of this was during the floods about 3-4 years ago, so i guess they were just busy.

I'd probably give them a go.

The policy fineprint says you need to purchase Euro cover for trips over 72 hours and for trips under 72 hours you need to have the return trip booked before departure.

You are required to use their choice of windscreen repairer for windscreen repairs.

I had a chip repaired by Autoglass with no issues.

It is the windscreen replacement rather than stone chip repair which may be a concern; presumably Swiftcover still use Autoglass but if you wanted BMW to do it then Swiftcover may choose only to pay £100 towards your windscreen.

My renewal is due next month and my renewal quote has arrived.

It's the same old automatic continuation at an over the top price.

Just quickly used confused.com and it seems both LV and Nationwide are coming in with quotes lower that Swiftcovers online price.

Looks like an easy decision to move with some if the terms and conditions of swiftcover.

Jules just check with Flux's about the remap as I'm lead to believe they only allow up to a 20% increase in power unless you are an existing customer with more and then they will honour it, Ive just gone with Greenlight and declared everything 350bhp, wheels/tyres, carbon bits etc and it cost £700 full comp for me and the mrs, considering it was £500 for a standard car I didnt think it was too bad.
