Dual Glasspacks
Alright, so I'm rocking some upgrades and putting out around 250 hp. Im upgrading to a Duke Dynamics rear quad diffuser for my M-Tech bumper, and I'm wondering if two glasspacks would have too much restriction! And would make it quiet. Right now I have a muffler and resonator delete. I have three inch pipe running from the headers to the rear. If I run two inch in diameter pipe from the y pipe at the end, to the two glass packs, would it be possible for these to still sound loud? Or is this too much restriction? The glass packs I have are around 20 inches long.
This is what I had in mind. I know that the horsepower is nothing similar, but I'm just curious how mine will sound. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_u...?v=1craMTdeI_4 |

it'll be loud, but it'll be a bit quieter than your muffler delete because once you add a muffler on there, it muffles the sound of the engine a bit but you'll get a better tone and less droning

Not at all. They will still be less restrictive than the stock exhaust, be plenty loud for most, and cut out some of the muffler delete drone you may have now. I myself want to see your results, I love the sound they make on other cars.

well the glasspack design is a "straight through" from what i've heard, it doesn't sound like it blocks much sound except possibly the droning my opinion is to get it done and if you don't like it, weld on a pipe in place of the 2ndary cats to make it louder

Glasspacks are strait pipe with a perforated pipe inside. Between the perforated pipe and exterior wall is packed fiberglass or other material. They are less restrictive than a traditional muffler. It wont block all the drone, it will have less drone than a muffler delete. If I were going to make a custom set up using glasspacks on a BMW Id do the following. Manifolds from engine shorter glasspacks 18" pipe to collector collector back to dual tips longer 24"-26" glasspacks tips to exit Just an idea, I dunno how well it would work honestly. I dont like loud exhaust on anything less than a v8. |
