Vanos Issues - You'll probably end up having to replace the intake and exhaust vanos solenoids. It's actually really simple, it just seems daunting.

Can you elaborate more on that issue?

VANOS Solenoids control the Adjustable Cams. (Think BMW’s version of V-TEC) Unfortunately, they wear out. They’re not particularly expensive, or hard to install, just a pain. The local BMW shop here wanted $700 plus parts to install both; I bought the parts and did it myself in a couple of hours. (I took my time).

In the end, they’re a maintenance item that has to be replaced with normal wear and tear.

You'll want to contact BMW and order your parts from them. My BMW stealership used my VIN Number to confirm the parts. It was just two Vanos Solenoids and two bolts. That was it.

There are a handful of helpful videos on youtube regarding changing them. For my 335i, it was super simple. Pull off the intake, pull out the radiator fan (this took me the longest) and bam, the Vanos Solenoids are right there at the front of the motor. Easy Peasy.

It's a cam VANOS solenoid failure; I threw the exact same codes when mine went. They can get gunked up and blocked over time, and you lose boost pressure and throw the code as a result.

There's an intake solenoid and an exhaust solenoid, it can be either one or both that are responsible for the problem. You can try removing them and giving them a thorough cleaning and using compressed air to blow out anything that's stuck. Reinstall them, clear the codes, and see if the codes come back. If they do, then one or both need replacing.

Here's a DIY guide on accessing the solenoids. It includes the part number if you want to order a replacement from your preferred source (I like getbmwparts.com).

Ok I'm going to try to clean them first and if the code comes back I'll replace them. Did both your solenoids go at the same time ?
