BMW Profesional Stereo pants?

Hi all, apologies for the negative nature of my first ever post but I figured here was the best place to ask. I dare say it's a common thread on here but I'm a little unhappy with the sound system in my newly aquired E92 M Sport.

It's the BMW professional head unit and to be honest I'm quite surprised at how poor the sound quality is, it just doesn't sound crisp enough. I've had a quick search through some threads on here and it seems to be a speaker issue? Or lack of tweeters?

Also, I'm of the opinion that an aftermarket stereo kind of de-values the car somewhat but as I didn't opt for the bluetooth package I'm thinking this is the best way to go. You can get a half decent head unit for £200 with ipod connectivity and bluetooth for hands free. Anyone else done this and is it easy to do? There's also a few fascia surrounds on ebay but they look a little cheap...

No I do actually mean pants, it's kind of a British slang for shit

I registered and didn't realise I'd posted in the worldwide forum as opposed to my local forum. I have done that now so all is good cheers...

Just in case you was wondering about the pants thing:

The head unit is fine, but the rest of it comes up short:

You can upgrade it, absolutely, but most folks don't know how properly. There is a EU Alpine upgrade kit but we Yanks don't know how well it works as it's not available nor supported here.

first thing to do is to replace/install better quality tweeters
the OEM tweeters suck
that was the first thing i did and it added a lot of clarity, and depth to the treble
next would be subs + amp
then the 4", the stock ones aren't that bad, unless you give them too much power, which will fry them
