WOT feels less "powerful" than careful acceleration

Sorry if this has been covered before, I tried a quick search but maybe this "issue" isn't described as I thought it would be..

I run COBB stg 1 FMIC sport ST.
If I try to accelerate by gently pushing throttle down, sort of "feeling" for the max effect I can get some pretty quick accelerations.

But if I go WOT it sure don't accelerate as aggressively as in the above scenario. Sure, it accelerates but I almost get the feeling that the car chokes on the power..

This is a datalog of WOT
http://www.datazap.me/u/fedorov/fmic...?log=0&data=13

Don't know if this is normal or what... Anyway, I'm getting a protune soon and is really looking forward to it.

Is traction control on or off? TC can have a big effect on wot especially once you are tuned.

This more than likely has to do with stock vs linear throttle mapping:

Load the COBB stg 1 FMIC sport LT map and you'll probably see the results/sensation you're expecting @ WOT.

Warning Will Robinson, warning...disabling your traction controls can be a blast!
Oh yeah, and being mindful won't hurt either, safety first.

I'm pretty certain it could be the mapping of open loop vs. closed loop. Partial throttle will have faster acceleration than putting your foot to the floor in certain situations.

I felt the same thing. Good to know that others feel the same way.

The only time the N54 operates in open loop is in very specific and fault related situations(IE the DME determines there is a faulty O2 sensor.)

There are numerous possible causes of what the OP is experiencing. Anything from traction control intervention to heavy timing corrections/overboost related throttle closures to even just the throttle mapping making it feel slower. A datalog will help tremendously to determine if/what the issue is.

its probably because you are expecting a lot more when you go WOT. when you are on ST and you press the pedal 40% its actually getting 80% so you are probably expecting alot more.

I honestly can't stand ST when in Drive, the car feels like your hitting 20PSI when you barely press it, its very unpredictable. and when the car shifts it feels really jerky because of those boost surges.

Perhaps if you have an automatic it has to do with going WOT causes the tranny to kickdown to a lower gear thus raising the RPM's to a location where boost tapers. Keeping the pedal partial may not kickdown and maximize higher target boost levels and begin acceleration at max lower RPM torque levels. Just an idea. I did the pedal mounted pad that blocks kickdown for this reason.

I go WOT but not to kickdown position so I doesn't have anything to do with this. I purchased PTF a couple a days ago so it'll probably do a lot for my experience I hope.

Thx Allen, I purchased an etune from you guys this friday so I hope my logs will show all that you guys need to know.
By the way, I did the logs with traction control on because I didn't see anything on your website that I should turn it off (maybe I missed it?). Anyway, when we iterate the new map it'll get sorted out I guess

Yup, when recording datalogs be sure to completely disable traction control. Traction control intervention can cause some red herons in logs. That shouldn't be an issue once you really get started, though
