If you like your Incredible, then don't give it up. But "BMW Apps" is more than just twitter and FB, so time will tell if it is compelling enough for others and if it can be made available on other mobile platforms.

No, sorry I am shopping for a E93 so this is what I got. Although since these are Retail Price Sheets, you should be able to just go to your SA and ask him to print them out. Might have to ask for them to check their updated bulletins but they should have it. I still haven't been able to get the coveted wholesale price list.

The only part that intrigues me about 6NR is the ability to have 3rd party apps. Seem's like this could have a lot of potential, but who knows. I probably wont go for it now, but I wish I could at least get the smart phone integration alone.

If you don't go for it when ordering, you may not get it at all as it is not retrofit capable by BMW for now.

You still get the SI and for the extra $100, the apps functionality with an option to use more media features if you want to then buy an adapter later. Worse case, you get the smartphone integration and the option to jump into apps if something comes along that intrigues you.

I have a Droid Incredible and I've learned that when BMW says "Smartphone" they really mean "iPhone". And I'm not going to give up my Incredible and get an iPhone so that I can get Facebook and Twitter integrated into my BMW.
thanks for that ppt link! that was actually very helpful.

I think I will take the gamble, it's not much and worst case scenario I get the smart phone integration and ipod userface in idrive.

6NR looks really cool, but just like for 6NF, the gadget-effect just isn't worth it to me to have to buy a snap in adapter at >$200 for every new phone I get (new one every year for work).

Okay, one more question.

My order goes into production in week 9 (next week). I told my CA i'd like to add the 6NR option as long as this doesn't delay my vehicle going into production. He advised that he does not know if it will delay or not because all he knows about the 6nr is that it will go into production starting March. I suspect my CA is ill informed since i had to initially bring up the march changes to him myself. Does anyone know if I add this option now will it affect my production date for next week? Thanks for any info.

Thanks for your reply. I'm just waiting for it to be shipped now...

Your CA must be a rookie. 1st it depends if your car has gone into production status 150. If so then you can not longer make any changes. If not then you are free to make changes all day long.

Next, If you previously ordered 6NF then your order should automatically change to 6NR IF your car is being produced in March or later. Of course you'd want to confirm. Have your CA email or print out a copy of the DCS report. That is the best way to know exactly what options BMW thinks it's adding to your car.

If your car is being produced in Feb its already code 150 and a moot point.

Yea my car will go into 150 on monday according to the 1800 number. My CA says I can add the option but he cant guarantee that this won't delay the production on the vehicle. So I guess my question is, does anyone know when in March 6nr will go into production?

*I did not have the 6NF option before

Thanks, so I should be good with adding that option and not delaying the vehicle or anything. In general when you add something before your car goes into 150, does it change the production week? I'd assume no.

So check the website and my BMW just went into production today. It lists the features as follows:

Your 328i xDrive Coupe Selected Options Swatches & Colors
See all standard features

STEPTRONIC automatic transmission
Heated front seats
Navigation system
Satellite radio
M Sports leather steering wheel with paddle shifters
Convenience Package
Anti-theft alarm system
Comfort Access keyless entry
Power rear sunshade
Park Distance Control
Premium Package
Universal garage-door opener
Digital compass mirror
Power front seats with driver seat memory
Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors
Moonroof
BMW Assist with Bluetooth
Lumbar support

I noticed it doesn't mention BMW apps. Now, if you've read my previous posts you'd know that my dealer had to add M Sport b/c the regular Sport was no longer available. He also added the 6NR. Do you think I should be concerned it doesn't list it here? I was kind of suprised it went into production...I thought it might not until 3/1.

bmwusa page has been known to be a little flaky, though it wouldn't hurt to ask your CA to make sure that it is on the list. My car is missing features on the BMWUSA page, but i know it was on the final build sheet so it should be fine... Sometimes being a little careful doesn't hurt.

The web site tends to be less accurate than both the 800# and more importantly your CA. You should get a copy of the Vehicle Inquiry Report that your dealer has access to and get the final world on what is to be produced. The website is not the final word.

The 6NR option technically does not begin production until week 9, so if you are in production right now, I would guess you do not have it. I would call your CA and get a copy of the final VIR and also confirm you are actually in production.

I just sent him an email and am waiting to hear back. By the way, looks like we're moving from the same car to a BMW. I also have an 07 Accord LX right now lol.

I was really surprised to see it go into production today due to being forced into the M Package (at no additional cost) because of the March changes. I'll wait to hear back from him and might ask for the VIR then.

I have the same situation right now. BMW says I am in production (website doesn't show some of my options either); however, my CA says My car is not actually scheduled to be produced until Monday. The options missing from the website are on the VIR and he has assured me that whatever is on the VIR is what will be on the car.

I wouldn't be too concerned and you are doing the right thing by checking with your CA. Good luck to you and maybe our cars will be shipmates!

What my CA told me this morning

"We were told that there is a delay on all cars that have it [6NR] listed, so those cars got pushed back in the production line and the cars that do not have it moved forward. Yours moved forward and went into 150 Status today. It might be software issues for the new APP option."

So I guess 6NR won't be in production next week.

I really got screwed with this new march production changes. First they switch out the wheels that pretty much sold me on the m package for wheels that I don't even like, and now they won't let me add the only upside of the changes (6nr). Ah well, at least I'm in production now
