Finally got my 335d re-delivered!

Phew! After just over 9 long weeks after dropoff in Geneva, I picked up my 335d in CA. Love it! The dealer even left the european temporary plates on the car. :-) Finally a full fledged BMW driver!

BMW doesn't guarantee it. sometimes it gets taken off at dealer/vpc, and sometimes it gets put in the car sometimes it doesn't.... I got lucky where they left the plates on so I have a souvenir! (and they didn't drill my front bumper. woot!)

Which dealer did you go through? I have a Euro Delivery schedule for this summer and I'd love to keep my plates too. Who did you talk to regarding keeping the plates?

I went through Stevens Creek BMW though I didn't really talk to anyone about it. I did use some paper printout on bimmerfest european delivery wiki :

You can try to talk to your CA to see if he can put in your paperwork to keep your plates.

Definitely not the same, but either way still fun to drive. :-) I don't know how long I can keep them on, but I guess I might remove the back ones once I get my CA plates.

guys, when you do ED, the plates will stay on the car and will be on the car when it gets to your dealer. You don't really have to go through a special process to keep them.

Beautiful... I think my next BMW will be ED. Want a M6 Convertible... they were out of production (and beyond budget) when I bought my 335is.

2. they drill holes in the front to place the european temporary plates
