More Issues this morning :-(

I posted yesterday for some brake issues that lit up in the console:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...6#post12782116

This morning I was heading to the dealer to drop off my car when all this popped out :-(
Is it something big or some of sort of sensor blew up?

Won't know... let the dealership give you the true diagnosis. Shouldn't have to worry since you're still under warranty I'm sure.

Last week I did first smog check on my 330i and guy did something, to perform test, that after I drove off - I see the same messages. But he told me - they will be gone after 5 min driving - and they did. My also shown ABS brake mulfanction.
Hope your is not a big issue. If my car was on warranty - I would sweet at all.
Good Luck!

Thanks folks.

@e60oholic It causes ABS to malfunction? Will update this thread once I hear back from the dealership.

@MB330: I restarted the car and everything went back to normal but in 3 miles or so everything lit up again.

iIf you take out wear and tear items roughly spent 2000$ in last 3 months. I think I am going to get a third party warranty. Cant think of selling this one soon......

Obviously you aren't going to an indy shop for your work.

Valve Cover Gasket can be done as a DIY,

Arm bushings should not be 700, I needed a whole control arm replace and paid 350.00,

Battery replacement I paid no more than just the price of the battery - 110.00 - DIY

Filters DIY

I think there is a DIY for the automatic transmission pan ..

You should bring your car to indy shop save yourself some $$

Filter I did and will do my self.

Don't know where you get price of $110., but this is replay from SA, I was using for the last 6 yrs, regarding OEM battery price:

Hi xxxx,

So sorry for the deal in responding. It has been a very long day. I went and checked with the Parts Dept and that is the correct cost of the battery ($256). I don't know how that other person is getting it for $188 but perhaps he is a wholesaler or something else? Other automotive companies have accounts with dealerships and get parts cheaper than you (or myself) can get them. That is the only think I can think of (assuming he is being honest).
The same friend, who will do battery registration will help with valve cover gasket replacement.
My only worry - transmission pan leak.

OP - sorry for hijacking your thread. Should be not about my car - about your issue. My apology.

Well, the original poster is under warranty and is waiting for the dealership to contact back, my guess with the OP is that it's a failed sensor which is causing other things to fail it's test.

As far as the battery, Walmart has everstart batteries for 118.00. Just make sure that you code the car with the proper AH rating, if I recall my car was originally coded for 90AH, and the battery purchased was 80 AH. I just changed the VO to the proper and recoded the car and registered the battery.

You don't have to get an OEM battery. The batteries are nothing special other than they are a rip off at the dealership. If you are familiar with coding your car, you can save yourself a butt load of money on that part

Interesting, because I read all debate here and on Bimmerfest witch battery to choose OEM or Walmart - and I can't make a decision. The friend who will coded strongly suggesting OEM. Call to another dealer in LA get me price $209

Bet it was a dirty steering angle sensor. They will throw that code if the eye gets dirty and cannot read.

@Grant@DetailAddict: How much does steering angle sensor costs? Steering wheel is squeaking like a dolphin from past few days..Any connection?

@Joe, Glad you brought up the topic of Battery. Mine is due and Dealership quoted 575, my trusted Indy shop quoted OEM battery with Coding for 287. Still expensive? How much does the tool to yourself costs?

software = free, visit the coding section of the site.

If you get an battery with the same AH rating of what you currently have you only need to register the battery.

Smooth1 of this site also offers a tool that does the registration for you if the AH rating is the same.

You'll need to obtain a cable which can range from 25.00 on ebay - 99.00 from recommended source, my cable was 25.00 w/free shipping on ebay.

Battery cost will range depending on where you buy, walmart, autozone etc.

Update

@ Joe- Thanks for the info on Battery.

Just wanted to update the findings, dealership just called. They had to replace the Bearing not the sensor. It got covered under the warranty.
Do you guys know how much it costs usually?

I just had this exact issue on my E90 LCI, it was the wheel speed sensor. Then it came back for an hour and went away. Took it back and now it needs another sensor, believe he said DSC.

:/
