Best method I've found for adjusting the rear springs was to take a 3in C-clamp and use that to clamp the black spring perch against the body.

Check this thread out: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239019

Has to be a 3in C-clamp because anything smaller or larger won't really fit in there. Pretty tight squeeze with a 3in clamp too.

Really wish they'd have put an allen key slot on the base of the black perch or even flatted the sides of the top of the perch so you could use a wrench around the top to hold it in place while you adjust. Oh well, can't say there's much else I'd change about these otherwise.

thinking about getting the kw v1's for my car and was also wondering about the ride quality. If it's comparable to a non-xdrive msport that actually has stiffer springs then i'm fine with it but if it's harsher than that i might think about spending the extra money and get the v3's

Well I have never ridden in a car with the sport suspension so I can't really say if they are similar. I will say that the ride quality is very good and is not that much harsher than the stock X-drive suspension.

Where are you thinking of having it installed? I would highly recommend Achtuning if you haven't decided on a place yet. Those guys are legit and really care about the cars they work on.

Good to know! I actually haven't even thought that far yet cause I haven't ordered it yet. I work in Renton so that is actually pretty convenient! Any idea what they charge for something like that?

Yeah, they are in Redmond. I did the install myself (obviously). I did ask them for a quote for the install and they came back at $570 plus $142.50 for the alignment. In my research I found those are very fair prices. You can get it done cheaper but for something like a suspension install I would prefer to have a properly trained shop do it.

I was working with Kelly there. His email is kelly *at * achtuning *dot* com

Yeah i actually emailed them too and got the same quote. I think I might try to tackle this project myself as well...don't really wanna spend another 700 bucks on top of the already expensive KW's. I'll get one of my buddies to help me and hopefully we'll get it done.

I paid $250 for the installation and $60 for alignment.
