JB+ Questions

Idk if u guys remember but about a month and a half ago i put a jb+ in my car and on the ride home my check engine light came on and my car almost went into full limp mode. I took the car in, no codes where thrown and they fixed everything up, the said the problem was a coil was misfiring. Anyways I am putting my dci back in today and was thinking about giving the jb+ another shot. What do u guys think, safe to try again? Mabey start out at 25%? Or should I just leave the car alone untill I have enough to trade up for a jb3?

Garage List
it doesn't matter kid, if you worry about throwing code, there's chances when you put in a tune, don't matter JB+ or JB3 or other piggyback.
you should keep your car as stock as possible. i don't hope to see a thread down the road about your dad find out you put a tune in your car again and take the car away from you.

So just leave it at 50% and see how it goes? Im just worried that I'll mess up a coil again and i'll have to bring it in, and my dad said that if we have to bring the car in because of me i wont be able to drive it anymore lol

To be perfectly honest with you, if your are concerned about your dad finding out about your mods that may potentially void your warranty...you shouldn't be modding your car. No matter what kind of mod you put on your car performance wise there is always the chance of voiding your warranty. If i were you...i would prob just stick to exterior mods, bmw performance or dinan parts

+1...imo if you care about the warranty whatsoever...do not mod your car to even let BMW even think about taking it away...just stick to the parts BMW allows you to add on to enhance the performance of your vehicle...they're more expensive than other things on the market but a warranty seems more important in your situation

According to this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=383161

Even if you clear the logs with the BT Tool BMW can still detect you've tampered with your ECU and can deny warranty.

If your JB+ does throw a code, does it mean that the CEL would go on everytime or is it possible for no CEL to go on, and still have some codes thrown

You can have shadow codes. Not all codes will cause a CEL.
