My main issue is oil and water temps at this stage... My AR cooler will be taken out and i'm seriously considering:

- The Performance radiator
- An ER Oil cooler
- Possible a Setrab core as main oil cooler....

But the cannonball is also a very nice story....

http://cannonballruneurope.co.uk/

Let's see how things will role ....
you can also modify the thermostat so its always open. When i tracked the ring or misano my only concern was water temp. oil temps were steady max 126C , water about 116C. I might go for a better radiator. that should lower the water temps about 10C and keep oil temps lower.

An always open thermostat is not going to add any thermal capacity or make the engine run cooler. It will simply take longer to warm up. Once it the coolant is warmed up, the thermostat (if operating properly) opens up fully anyway.

well actually even if open most of the oils is circulating back into the engine so only a part goes in the cooler. By modifying it you get all oil going through the oil cooler before going back into the engine.

- The Performance radiator

My advice would be to go with the Evolution Raceworks sports oil cooler - which is an upgrade (I believe also with a Setrab core) for the stock oil cooler and works very well. A friend of mine has this installed and is very satisfied with this. If it still isn't enough you can still consider upgrading to their race cooler.

The BMW Performance (water) radiator does not do much. A friend of mine had this in his 335i, and it only marginally impacted the water and oil temps. If water temps are becoming a problem, I would rather replace the stock radiator with a real aluminium core (there's one offered in the sponsored section right now from Advan I believe, but I could also source you one made by a very good shop at the 'Ring).

Is this with your upped turbo's?
Because I do see a quite increase of oil temp after the RB turbo installation:

- Engine is heated up sooner
- Engine temp was always steady 120, with a blip to 125c upon pushing the car, now it is at minimum 120 and upon beating the car around 128/130 and hanging at 125c...

I can imagine that on a track this is even worse..

I believe I have now the default dual m10's on a Vishnu chargepipe.....
Cupertino is the only other guy I know of running upgraded (ASR) turbos with more than 2 nozzels. I wouldn't say it's necessary, but more meth can't hurt - more cooling, etc.. Just make sure your FAV can support more than 2 jets, I had to get a larger one with my Aquamist kit. If I wanted to run x4 nozzels, I would need 2 FAV's. Since you are running x2 M10's, you are fine unless you really want to push the limits of your tune and car.

AR Oc and the BMW cooler?

Any modifications?

I have the Ar in the kidney in front of the radiator... I use 1-2 liter extra oil... but somehow... temps are still not under control

Thanks for your feedback!

Clear story... will stick to my dual nozzles for now...
I will perform some testing with a focus on timing, WG DC, fuel trims and boost.. hopefully some time to test different meth mixtures.... 50-50, 70-30, 80-20 and pure....

yes but i have the old version on driver side wheel. I very rarely see oil temps exceeding 130C and recovery is very fast.

with COBB fueling is not an issue anymore and you dont need to run meth as fueling which is not the right way to do it anyway, meth should only be used as octane booster and to lower IAT. i hit 12 AFR really fast even at 19 psi and through the shift.

In about a month, if everything goes according to plan. Going to test COBB on the stock turbos first.

I'll do a 60mph roll though, even at 40mph I'll all up in smoke in this weather.

would be good to meet up regardless and go terrorize Washington County for a bit.

So glad your stuff came in and the install went well! I am still happy with my RBs, and have about 7k miles on them. It was the easiest turbo upgrade!

Make sure you are posting a review as compared to GIAC...you will probably be the first who switches from GIAC to Cobb. I am on the fence of switching to Cobb too (but I'm a bit afraid of problems/misfires/lower power/etc.) ...
