With the exception of high end boost taper on 6AT maps, the v4 maps haven't changed in a long time. So expect them to max out at 420-440whp on a fully moded cars running race gas (or race+meth). Or 340-350whp on totally stock cars running pump gas. And anywhere in between depending on mods/fuel/conditions.

I'm a little confused about the 3 maps. Map 1 is a standard auto tune map, map2 is the basic auto tune map that meth switches back to when not in meth mod, Map 3 is now the dedicated Progressive meth map instead of map 2? Just want to make sure I set this up right the first time.

Map 1 is your standard....map 2 is more aggressive settings...map 3 will be for progressive meth mapping if you set the injection mode more than a value of 0....If you leave the injection mode at 0, you will not be able to toggle to map 3 since its not activated...Hope this helps the confusion.

no issues with 64bit Windows. if you're having a connection issue, the fix is most likely one of the following:

- change power settings on laptop
- run XP mode (Windows 7 only)
- purchase a quality cable

i'm running 64bit Vista and had an issue with the Procede staying connected. i changed the power settings and that didn't help, so i purchased a higher quality cable than the one i originally bought from Radio Shack, and now have ZERO issues with staying connected. here's the money thread:

I've got the latest maps and whatnot. Going to let it autotune for a week or so and then I've got a buddy headed to the dyno.. I'll pop mine on there and see what it does.

Car is BONE stock other than the Proceed, right down to the stock air filter (because my aftermarket one wouldn't fit for some reason).

I've got to test it out. The power settings were wrong before, and I was using a 10ft USB extension cable on top of the adapter, and since Proceed runs at USB1.1, it probably was too long. Swtiched to a 6ft cable, and between that and the power options, I'm hoping it solves the issue.

If not, I'll switch to a different adapter. This is the one I'm using now:

thats good to hear a will be waiting for your results.

Im only slightly hesitant..... i dont want to loose my 371 whp
that i have all the time w/o waisting time, gas and hard accelerating waiting for the auto tune to learn and maybe give me that much power if 'IT' feels like it. I havent updated in almost a year because im afraid i will loose
whatever the settings are.

Are my worries justified? Or will i have the same or more power?

This is a mess...i cannot follow up with this. Huge amount of info scaterred around a public forum.

I think a proper manual explaining everythin IN DEPTH is needed now that procede has a such a vast amount of features. Any serious product should have this , so i cant see an automotive upgrade of such an expensive car shouldn't

For instance...what the heck is the VVT adaptation reset? Has this explained some time in the past?

I don't have in depth explanations of the adaption reset resent anymore than BavTech has explanations of the same commands in their diagnostic tool. This is because they don't exist outside of BMW. When I find them, I will post them here along with the rest of the Procede features that are already documented. Please keep in mind that we are selling a tune primarily. If we can add extra functionality for those who need it AND know what to do with it, that's all well and good. I think it's important that all these new reset commands on be used if there is a problem and not just because they are there.

Map3, as described in the docs, is simply a user selectable state which induces the progressive methanol feature between map1 and map2. Maybe it's not best to think of it as a "map" like map1 and map2.

Your thought process is wrong... you made 371whp one day on one dyno in certain conditions that day with a tank of gas that you aren't still running now. This "371" number isn't static... go to the same dyno in hotter weather and you'll have "lost" that number. put in a crappy tank of gas and you'll have "lost" that number... yadda yadda yadda.

Your worries are unjustified

Bear in mind that these are existing BMW diagnostic functions that have been incorporated into Procede.

From what I see, they are very similar to the adaptation resets available in the BT tool and even those guys don't give you much information on how to use them properly and what they do.

The mode 3 features are icing on the cake at this point.

There is a thread by Mr.5 that talks about how he reset certain adaptations such as air/fuel, throttle valve, air control...etc. and how his car ran smoother afterwards.

I can post the link later when I get home if you like.

Hi guys,
New Firmware (#28) is up.

The Changes:
1) Added display calibration options for non-USDM cars that have 280kph speedos (instead of 260kph speedos)
2) The default two-stage Shift Light RPM value has been reduced from 8000 from 7500rpm.

These changes are only useful if you have a 135 (Ilma ) that, previously, had some degree of display error and wasn't capable of display 8000rpm on the tach. If you have a 335, this update wont do anything for you

Updated Command Center Reference Sheet on the first post.

Cheers,
Shiv
