Chevy Rev It Up HPDE - Aug 10-11
KL2DC - didn't you do a HPDE thread recently? I can't find it.
Anyway, I am not sure if this is on your list, but Rev It Up 2007 will be in DC August 10-11 (FedEx Field): http://www.revitup.com/default.asp I'm going to sign up, but I want to sign up with some of you guys. On Saturday, the 9am start time is already full. The 9:20 start time has only 5 slots, but the 9:40 start time has 33 slots. Should we sign up for 9:40? Get breakfast beforehand? Or, if only a few people want to do it, then I'll sign up for 9:20. This is a timed competition, driving the Cobalt SS, I think. I am no racer, but this costs just $25 and should be fun. Anyone do this event before?

Hi Brian...I did a brief post on the main DC chat area.
We went to this last year to mixed reviews. But I am willing to have another go at it, they have recently revised the pricing. I have spoken with Shimshimhada as well and he is keen on going. Let me check with him but tentatively let's put it as you, me and Shimshimhada.

You bastards! I almost missed out getting the same slot because I didn't check this until now. As I said yesterday, there was not much room left there. I got the last slot at 9:20. There was a lot more room at 9:40. Although, I guess if we get more people, they can sign up for 9:40 and we can still all meet up for breakfast at say 8:30 or so.
Why were the reviews of this mixed last year? I'm going to search for your reviews, if they're still here on the forum.

here you go Brian...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22382 we paid $35 last year and basically for the money and in comparison with the events hosted by Lexus, BMW and MB, rev it up was kinda lame. Iirc you get 2 shots at the time record, the driving 'exercises' were short and lame, you get limited cracks at the cars, the hot lap was cancelled out of safety concerns, food wasn't free etc. I hope the event for this year is better they seem to be heeding some of the grievances we had like price point. To be honest, if the pickings weren't downright slim for this year (for driving events) I wouldn't sign up but then again I'm an optimistic guy plus having a crack at the 'vette sounds like a fun saturday morning and we all get to hang out so...

I read the whole thread. Looks a little lame, but for $25, I'm game. If it sucks, I'll only be a little annoyed. $40, OTOH, I'd be downright pissed.

Friday starts at 3pm, that's probably what you're seeing. On Saturday, the 9:40am slots should have room.

It's impossible to win the 'Vette, but my goal is top 100 overall from DC... but mainly to beat a few fellow DC autoxers. There were 2 NCC BMWCCA members in the top 15 last year, which is VERY VERY hard to do.
I couldn't do the Chevy event last year, but I've done the Mazda RevItUp events in the past. I'm not exactly sure which session I'm signed up for, but I know it was the earliest on Saturday. Oh, and I wouldn't really consider this an "HPDE."
