Just purchased the cable last week so it should be anytime now! ive been reading up on everything here and it doesnt seem too hard but i know one minor screw up could cost me a lot of money so i will be using this thread to ask many questions that i cant find through searching over the next who knows how long haha.
first quick question: is it possible to code the cornering lights, closest to the kidneys, to both come on with the highbeams and stay off during normal function? this would be greatly appreciated because these lights are useless to me otherwise. thank you in advance! |

Well I can't get anything to install right, something to do with a 16 bit installer and I have a 64 bit system
guess I'll be looking for a new computer to build specifically for this. |

Upgrade to windows 7 pro then download xp mode.
Upgrade to windows 7 pro then download xp mode.
Then install everything under xp mode. The only thing that doesn't work under 64 bit is ncsexpert I believe. |

Or, if you don't want to buy a new OS, VMWare offers their workstation free for an evaluation. You can set up your VM in the evaluation copy, then use the free VMWare player (no evaluation timeout) with your VM created in the workstation.

ok i have xp mode set up but now everything is super slow even with 2gb of ram allocated. inpa flashes the battery and ignition lights and i still get an error?
"Error! group file : D_SIM.GRP IFH-0018: INITIALIZATION ERROR. either you are using an atiquated ... \ediabas ecu\t_grtb.prg file and \ or the ecu gives a wrong variant index, diagnostic index or, from f01 onwards, sgbd index. program will me stopped" and within the virtual machine i have the com port set to com4 like my install instructions said but does it matter that in the vm settings that com1 is equal to com4? You still need to use com 1
It should look just as it did in the download examples .

running win7 VM on my macbook pro.
I get both black dots right away, but when I try to read the airbag status , I get the following error. Since I see the production date and serial numbers, am I actually reading something? The latency is set to 1 and both Transmit and receive fifes are set to 8 (via registry). Should I continue.... |

I have the recommended cable from eBay, and since my car is 2011 I do not use the adapter. I confirmed with the ohm meter that pins 7 and 8 are not bridged together.

I don't think it's the cable.
I have a feeling his script files are missing from his INPA file hierarchy. It's looking for files that aren't present. |

I believe that I managed to fix it.
I added obd.ini file and now, I do not see any errors; still not getting the airbag status, but I believe this is "normal" in some cases. Is there any other way to confirm proper functionality before I proceed further? |
