TPMS Inactive?
Just got the car back from the body shop and they sent one wheel to get refinished. the dash (non-iDrive) says TPMS Inactive. It wont allow me to reset as when i press the BC button on "Reset" it jus says Inactive again.
the little icon is lit up in yellow on the actual dash. i was told to drive a couple miles for it to reset itself but that didnt do after a 30 minute drive back from the shop. any ideas? ive searched but really no definitive answers and nothing very detailed. |

what do you mean by "they sent one wheel to get refinished?" are you running spare or something?
1. If not all TPMS are in place - computer will not reset. 2. If you got new TPMS, it will not detect it automatically 3. To reset TPMS you have to stop the car, it will not allow you to click reset while driving. 4. You have to drive couple of miles after you clicked reset. 5. TPMS can be two different types, don't remember when they switched (I guess after LCI release in 2010) but basically on your 07 should be old style TPMS and new ones will not work Hope this helped

they assure me the TPMS is there. All i see is my normal Valve stem, which is what i think my model TPMS is (2007) the same TPMS was used. Quote:

I would try to use scan tool and see if there are any errors.
It may be your TPMS module failing, or that TPMS that was taken out for repair mulfanctioning... good luck P.S. on a side note, if body shop did some work on a car and removed a fender liner, it's possible that they forget to plug TPMS module back. It sits from on the inner side of the liner.
