FS: Brand New F1-R Intercooler - Large Core
I don't think I can DIY the install anytime soon so it's an opportunity for someone else. I think it's the last intercooler left from a one time production run setup by some of the Toronto guys, the rest of the intercoolers are gone and installed. Install is prety much the exact same as the big tom install and is pretty straight forward. $395 + SHIP obo Shipping is $30-50 to USA, you can send money as a paypal gift to knock off like 20-30 bucks off the price as well. I am trying for a local sale, but if I can't find anyone I don't mind shipping I guess. Added some new pics! pics of the fins for those that wanted, plus some pics of my friends car during the install and after the install, the intercooler looks MEAAAN!! In the the front grill. The guys who installed it said they had a HUGE drop in IAT and no extra lag whatsoever, they said the car runs like a BEAST on autotune jb4 and there's no power loss ever due to heat soak, the IAT barely rises at all during WOT and drops very quick when the IC gets air going through it as well. This looks like a cool FMIC. You could do closeups of end tanks and fins out of packaging.
Stepped core + huge frontal area is chill. It doesn't look as deep as the helix.

Yeah it's about half an inch less depth than the helix, but quite a few inches taller. The guys who installed it told me they are extremely happy with the results.

Added a cloesup of the fins, a shot of some of the hardware (it includes a bunch of extra clamps and stuff too) plus some pics of the same intercooler during the install on another vehicle (the one I'm selling is BRAND NEW). This thing looks like a BEAST up in the front grill and get's a lot of attention. I know 3 guys locally running it now and they said they're cars are running WAY better on jb4 map 5 and their IAT's look sweet. Dr. G is also running it and a couple of his friends and they had other intercoolers before too and they said they are going to stick with this one now.

Any fmic is better than stock. Also this looks like the godspeed or the aka big tom style. which I have and theres nothing wrong with it. I can feel a big difference and my intercooler is the same size as his LOL

I think one of the shops that installed this, installed it with no trimming or just a very small section of the shroud plastic trimmed off like the HPF does. I can't see where the trimming was done in his pics.
Most of the other guys trimmed the plastic pieces infront of the intercooler off to get more airflow and wiggle room for fitting. Quote:
The guys running them are pretty knowledgable and they seem to love it over the other intercoolers so I'm guessing theres no issues related to pressure drops. |
