My "Service Engine Soon" light recently came on. I double check the gas cap and everything seem fine. It's been a few days and light still on, car seem to run normal.

I went to Advance Auto, and they can't seem to connect to my car to read the code.

Anyone know where I should go beside paying the dealership to read what the code is?

Car is a 2008 E93 328I with 75K on it.

Try another store like autozone, they can check it for you

i got a recall letter in the mail from BMW about a faulty battery cable a few months back. did you get that done? it was free at any bmw. my service engine light came on caused of that issue.

Yes I have the battery cable change it was two months again.

Now my car engine shake at idle and the idle jump a little bit

i had an issue like that when i am either at a red light or stop sign for a few seconds to a minute, the rpm jumps a little from somewhere between 500-700rpm and the car shake a little bit. but i didnt get the service engine light. i heard it could be the mass air flow sensor causing that problem so i cleaned it with CRC mass air flow sensor spray from auto zone. it could be your mass air flow sensor that needs replacement since your service engine light is on.
