We actually discussed that very topic a while ago, search for it, its here somewhere. I would be careful though, the seatbelt Nazi's are about to start yelling at you.

i happen to be the seatbelt hitler but anyways you take the buckle thing from another car and shove it in, like go to the junk yard and find an old bimmer or something like that cut the belt take the clip and put that in the seat belt thing....nowww you wouldnt be not fastening your seat belt while driving would you?

Yes, I wish you can program the car so it will not beep at you when you are stopped, or below 10 MPH. I wear my seatbelt, but there will always be those annoying scenarios where you are stopped, or the passenger has to grab something from the back seat, etc.

I don't think you can turn it off without actually putting a clip in the little holder. I know, it sucks.

Oh goody, my favorite topic!
Decide which bothers you more... the beeping or the seatbelt. then do the other....

yeah its quite annoying when i unbuckle to beep myself in the parking deck. After i beep in I find my parking spot and then I get out of my car so I dont buckle myself up. But while i'm driving around it beeps like crazy. So when I pull up its crazy cuz i'm trying to get my wallet for my ID and unbuckle cuz I'm to far so i wont curb my rims (resale value goes down if ur rims are scuffed), then i got my foot on the clutch and realize I can't reach the sensor. Then put the car in neautral and one foot on the break paddle, beep in sit down then put the car in first cuz the car behind me is honking, and the annoyiing beep comes on. Now here is the point. I turn around and try to reach for my seatbelt and I can't becuase its to far back, and when ur already in the car, the cheap plastic thing dont come out anymore. Then I just let it beep as long as it wants until I park my car. After the car's parked I'm so frustarted to go to class. lol then I had to redo the whole procedure after i come back from class to get out of the park lot to go to work. haha sorry guys just had to let it out, like u guys really care haha.

Maybe just buckle the seat belt in behind your body?
...or take the seat belt from the passenger side and buckle it into your side? |

It does not mater if you disabled it in my car, my daughter would yell at you and keep saying you need to put on the seat belt until you did it.

The real question is why are you so ignorant to not wear your seatbelt?
Seatbelts drastically reduce injury and death in automobile accidents. Less than 1% of accidents can be attributed to miracles where the seatbelt would have caused more damage... i.e. ejection of passenger when explosion of car occurred. Again, that is very rare. Wear your seatbelt and the sound will go away; then too your family and friends will be able to appreciate you for years to come. |

Tierfreund made a good point in the other thread that depending on the sensors in the seat belts the air bag comes out at different pressure or something. I'm sure there are other features that might be deactivated if we deactivate the weight sensors on the seats. Before you guys disconnet or cut anything read that thread first. I guess I can just suck up on the beeping in the garage. on a second thought it kinda attract chicks. lol not really. haha

The chime WILL eventually stop (1-2 mins). If you're really just "sitting" in the car, put it in park and the chime will stop. ![]() |

So I can get in and move my car without putting on my seatbelt, and it doesn't beep. But if I drive off, it will begin beeping again (and won't shut up this time, even if I stop) once I get to about the same speed that the doors lock. Is that not how other E90s are? Based on the description here, it sounds like everyone else's car beeps incessantly once you start it up. ![]() I feel weird without a seatbelt, anyway, so it doesn't really matter except when I want to move the car a few feet, I'd be annoyed if I had to latch my seatbelt. I seriously wonder if there is some setting on my car computer that's different from other cars. Updating the iDrive software didn't change this behavior, though. It's just bizarre that I seem to be the only one with this "feature."
