Did anyone bring a PROcede (or similar) on a Euro Delivery?

I know that you can't ship the car back to the States with anything altered, and if I'm going to get busted by customs for something, it's going to be for something a lot more worthwhile than putting a cpu piggyback on a car. Anyway, has anyone bought a PROcede, brought it with them for the Euro tour, and then unhooked it before leaving? (Security may be an issue at the airport, but I don't think they'd have much concern if you put it in checked baggage.) If I'm going to flog my car on the Autobahn, why not REALLY do it right? Also, if I blow a BMW engine with 100 miles on the car, there are worse places to be than Munich. For all the BMW reps perusing this forum, I would never think about modifying a car with a PROcede, so this is all theoretical. Thanks guys.

i wonder how you would explain the nature of the procede to Airport Security.... and if they would question you heavily.

I know of at least a dozen customers who have flown out to Europe with PROcede and 10mm wrench in hand and have installed it within 5 miles of car pick-up. Surprisingly common. And pretty cool if the first thing you hit is the Autobahn

Airport Security: "What's that?"
me: "It's a piggyback computer that sits in between a car's CPU and sensors.'
Airport Security: "Is it a bomb?"
me: "No"
Airport Security: "OK, good enough for me. Just take your shoes off and throw your water bottle in the trash. Have a nice flight."
me: "Thanks. I feel safe knowing you're guarding our air travel system."

OK, cool. I think I'm going to try and set up a delivery near the weeked of the Monaco F1 Grand Prix and tear through five "countries" (Germany, Austria, Italy, France, and Monaco) in just a few days. Unfortunately that's not until April, but I'll be able to set a record for "piggyback'ed car with tickets in the most countries in the shortest period of time."

I hope they take it off then when they leave.
It would suck for them to get back to the States only to find BMW voided their warranty because they found the PROcede during delivery inspection.

You will have no problems with Procede or any other tools as long as you check the bags

That's what I was thinking too....just put the procede in your checked baggage. Or he can even ship it via Fed Ex directly to his hotel.

I've carried on as many as 20 PROcedes (with harnesses) during out-of-state dyno day trips. Just a few raised eyebrows. No arrests

I had about a couple of customers bring their Turbo Tuners with them on the Euro Delivery.

One thing...Although the autobahn is theoretically speed limitless the reality is that there are very few limitless stretches left. Those that are usually have so much traffic that it is moot. During the 2,100 miles of my recent ED, only about 50 were spent at or near the top speed limiter.

Let's not forget the $6/gallon gas...

Ya SSTT would be ideal for ED... easy on, easy off.

I wouldn't go with Procede for ED for at least 2 major reasons:

1. Wait times
If I scheduled ED and ordered procede, I'd be afraid I wouldn't even receive the unit before I had to fly to Europe to pick up the car.

2. Check Engine Lights (CELs), Limp Modes, Bad harnesses, Install Issues
Those are the last things I want to be messing with in a foreign country with a brand new car. I won't even go into details. You can search Procede with above key words.

Flame-suit on!
