Wow, lots of opinions.

Yeah - Vishnu's customer service may have cracks here and there. People think that Shiv et al don't care about them as customers. Personally I think their problem is the opposite.

He cares too much. He has gone from a small time operation to a wildly successful company. He scaled in some ways, like by outsourcing his help line. But he didn't scale his customer/technical service. He tries to give the same personal / intensive service - which, with many many many more customers means that most will get ignored while a few are coddled.

I've been on both sides. I've had trouble calling/PM'ing/Emailing them. Then on another day, I have Dustin spending two hours with me while I'm on a road course. I'd go out for a few laps, have issues, come back and report the issues and he'd email me a new map. I'd send him logs - he'd tweak the map further. I mean TWO hours with me, adjusting the map to make it perfect.

Then the next week I can't get a callback from their help line.

Vishnu tries to be too good - for their own good.

Wait for the email exchange to be posted, guys. Then jump to your conclusions. To tell the truth, dustin and I were scratching our heads all day today about it. We look forward to getting insight from other regarding the attached datalog and analysis.

We joined this thread late. We spent the last 3hrs running the nonbeta v2.0.2 map at the track. 12.4@116 and 12.2@115. 60' still at 2.0s.

Personally, I had more problems than any of you had for procede. First, Shiv replaced me a new procede that worked. BUt the wire harness had a power connector that was fucked. So i asked him to send me a new harness and he did. All at his cost though i still had to pay my own tax again but thats fine. I was desperate to get the procede to work. And recently when V2 was out, he gave me a free upgrade to V2 for all the problems i went through. I think Shiv's customer support is good as he is concerned abt his products but i honestly feel that he cant cope with the demand of the Procedes and the accompanying support that follows suit. He has a major update that will fill to 20 pages and u see him missing without any further updates on that. I think that is the whole problem. Ppl like Eugen plays with the procede and understands it so well that he knows if anythings going wrong. Perhaps an issue of Eugens request against 1000s of ppl waiting for V2 and support. So whose right or whose wrong. Really, there is no answer but to go Woosaaaah.

As far as over hyping of the product. Mine does 100% of what I was told it would do. I think people want it to do 150% of what it is supposed to do.

What's funny is this whole thing with Eugene selling his PROcede is bigger then the Red Sox trading Babe Ruth to the Yankee's.
Ruff,

I agree with you and people expecting more then is required. Nature of the beast I suppose?

I did not want to have any implications if I had any car troubles myself and decided to take my car back to stock and ejoy it for what it is.

And the comment on Red Sox's and the Babe. They did not have what we have today, other wise it would have been fun to see the turmoil of that in forums.

BTW Happy Holidays

If its okay with him, I can post up the email exchange from earlier this morning. But only if he gives me permission.

Ps. There were no 20psi boost spikes involved. It had to so with boost targeting at partial throttle (sub 14psi). Im still a bit confused over it but perhaps others can offer their input.
we all know that Eugen was VERY picky as to how he wanted his car to behave, and to some extent he was somewhat more knowlegable than a lot of people on this forum. From Shiv's post above, i can only conclude that what Eugen ultimately wanted was the ever elusive "custom" tune that we all want.

welcome to the hypocrisy of the internet or more spcecifically this board, actually no, actually just some of its members.

and to everyone else......didn't Eugen come up with that idea on the alternative power source when the V2 first came out? didn't he get a free V2 for his work? shit, that could be it and we are sitting here speculating. of course Shivs post nullifies that but, well, you get my point.

and besides if he did defect from the PROcede how come he hasn't changed his sig? if he was THAT pist and dissappointed, he would have yanked it this morning.

anyways, i think the Packers are gonna woop the Cowboys tomorrow.

Let's wait to "hear" both sides of the story before jumping to conclusions (yeah, I know, it is WAY too late for that now, 9 pages later). Hopefully we'll get to see the e-mail exchange and we can each decide for ourselves.

Personally, I've been more than happy with my PROcede and its support, and have no problems to report with it, except it makes my car go too fast You have to understand that there are over 1,000 PROcedes out there, so we are bound to hear more about "issues" with them than any other tunes.

It would be interesting if Eugene got a JB2, and what kind of feedback we would hear from him about it. I bet it would not be much different...

Man, just logged into this thread. WTF, so one person sells his v2.0 then all of the sudden everyone goes worst product ever... The delay and product release pissed me off, but in the end, its still the best product with pump gas. Let the dust settle, world hasn't ended yet.

Things seemed to be fixed by the way Scalbert and Eugen posted, but then all the sudden he sells the Procede. I have mine out right now. I may have to just stay with v1.47 or v1.48 until this can be worked out. I need some reassurance here, as well as the rest of the Procede v2.0 users probably do. To be fair, I've never had one CEL or limp on v1.47.
I never had a CEL or limp on V2.0.1. I did have a limp mode with V1.47 due to gas quality. Don't jump to conclusions.

Yeah exactly. If everyone read the complaints by Eugen you would see that he was pissed that Vishnu didn't address the things he wanted done as fast as he wanted them done. He also wanted lower boost than V2 was providing, which was adjusted with the user-maps. As far as the boost spikes go, those were explained also in another thread, which is why it's dead now.

I have no problems with V2. I don't care if Eugen jumped ship or not. I'm surprised, but it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

that's not exactly it..you should read what he wrote in this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97645
at post 21. In particular this section:

"It was not possible for me to create torque settings providing a 11-13 psi tune without seeing spikes when I floor the pedal, getting 2 psi more boost after shifting, getting 15 psi even the torque settings limit boost to 13 psi, etc. All this happened randomly, I could not detect any reason for this. I don't talk from boost spikes lifting the pedal, these are normal and will not harm anything. Friday last week I got a quite deep and loud hoovering sound from the engine bay, lasting 3-4 seconds, disappearing when I lifted the pedal."

and while you're at it please vote in the poll in you have v2...

No problems so far with V1.47. I know their customer service is a bit slow but they did overnight me a new harness which took care of install issues. Iam 100% satisfied with their product - it delivers on what it promised.

Guys, its not sensible to come to conclusions just because one loyal customer sold his procede. Lets wait till tommorow to hear the whole story.

Not jumping to conclusions. I said to be fair I have never had one CEL on v1.47. I just really value Eugen's opinion, and want to hear what he has to say. Until then... I'll wait on installing V2. Do you have a boost gauge?

yep... On race gas. With user torque table raised from ~92-95% to 100%. Cold night and a really light driver (dustin). Launching still a problem though. Track surface was too cold.
