Which tune to choose?
Looking to tune a stock N54. I've been looking around and sounds like Cobb flash tune may be the way to go. Prefer flash over piggyback. Anyone have any other suggestions? I will eventually change intake and down pipes.

Cobb is no longer supported. The top choices are MHD and JB4. MHD is vastly cheaper than Cobb, and you can run backend flashes.
On a stock car, keep things conservative, map 1 or stage 1 only. |

And you can also flash custom map with the MHD flasher, you can log, and read DME codes and do some reset operations.. from a tablet or a phone, which is great

MHD is fantastic. And will probably be around for a very long time with regular reliable updates/upgrades. It really is a fantastic app. 👌

Didn't Cobb just release new maps in March?

Then go with s2 mhd, it wont be that much slower than an M4 and he prob wont have the repair $.. depends on how often he hammers on it.. and the state of the n54

MHD Stage 2+ with FBO you will be satisfied with the results! If you have a auto trans, go with the xHp tcu tune as well. That combo let me run a 12.2 @ 113 mph.

I run JB4 with MHD backend flash. JB4 controls the boost, MHD controls the timing. Pulls strong & smooth, plus the JB4 connect kit is great.
I'm FBO running 17psi on the second map, I estimate around 375hp to the wheels on pump 93 octane. I don't plan on doing much more to the engine until my turbos inevitably go, at which point I'll be going the single turbo route.

No, you really don't want to run stage 2 with stock cats in place. Stage 2 boost levels need the free flowing benefits of catless downpipes. Besides, stage 2 can throw enough heat to damage and melt/clog the cats.
