Ran against a C6 Z06

I got together with Seattle335i to check out his new C6 Z06. Before I continue, let me just say that the fucking thing is insane.
So we decided to do a few highway runs just for fun.

Surprisingly, he won!

We did like 3 pulls from 50-ish to about 120-ish and I got pulled by about 6 cars.

One interesting thing....on every run, we were dead even through second and half of third gear and as the speeds got higher he started pulling very hard.

Sorry, no videos, but maybe next time.

Anyway, nice runs Seattle335i and your car is amazing.

I know...we were dead even for a little while and then he was pulling me not too bad but once we hit like 100mph something changed he started pulling at an incredible rate of speed.
I was like "fuck me sideways!" "WTF just happened?"

Why do you think I am driving a 08 Z06 guys? The BMW 335i was a lot of fun for me but the lack of LSD, the limp modes and a couple of things made me drift to the Z06 which was the car I was looking to get about 10 months ago.

I still think the BMW 335i is one of my favorites cars of all the time, I loved that car but for now the Z06 is cuting it for me.

Good post by the way..

Thanks SteelTorque - your car is awesome too - I agree totally, we were almost even thru' abt 80 , then it seems like the Z06 just starts pulling like a freight train.
I had an 07 997TT and I will state that the Z06 will pull on the 997 - there's no turbo lag - provided both are stock - even from a dig, the TT will have the jump, but the Z06 will catch up fairly quickly...
I still love and respect the 997TT, but right now I'm in the honeymoon phase with the Z06 - I kinda equate it to banging a German Olympic runner, then moving on to a hot American superfit model - not an upgrade, nor downgrade - just different banging material and with the right kind of dough thrown at them, they would each be able to perform miracles

As awesome as the C6 Z06 is, the C07/SS/whatever will hit the streets soon and when it does at the price point it does, it will simply own everything else it will likely run up against on the street, including the vast majority of sport bikes (and I'm NOT a Chevy or Corvette fan). Bone stinking stock, with say 3200 pounds driver included, this is a 10.2 second recipe off the show room floor and that's being conservative.

If the owners start modding them with pulley swaps and tunes.. lets say 725hp at the wheels which is really a nothing bet for a blown V8- that's mid-9's assuming you can even kinda, sorta, maybe think about keeping the tires planted- and that's about .1 (point 1) away from the power/weight of a Veyron. This car will mark the Hemi 'Cuda era of our time IMHO.

That test drive was seriously scary. I can't wait to see that thing modded.

They actually decided to call it a ZR1... Still a C6 vette, just gone nuts... It will be $100,000 with a nice mark up... The first retail ZR1 one sold for 1 million dollars in a car auction...
