Sometimes I chuckle to myself about the mentality of other employees. All morning an employee has been whispering within ear shot. I find this hilarious as even if I could hear what they are talking about, I still wouldn't give a shit. The fact that they feel like whispering is a.) a socially acceptable means of communication while in the presence of other people and b.) a way to keep me being able to hear a conversation that means as much as a warm bucket of hamster vomit makes me laugh.

Bringing this thread back.

Today, I way overestimated the traction on the roads with winter tires and slid about 70 feet when the light went yellow and I tried to brake. Wound up halfway into the intersection, fortunately light hadn't turned for the other direction yet, so no real issues, but still discomforting and embarrassing.

I got way too cocky with AWD and winters. Will not be making that mistake again. Have to say, it is one reason why I like RWD in the winter though - constant reminder of just how slippery it is as you struggle to get traction.

Next door neighbors came over and gave us presents. I’ve gladly accepted and since we didn’t get them any I’ve made an excuse and said, “I’ll be right back”. They are still waiting outside. What do I do?

1. Moon them?
2. Give them $5 each?
3. Take out their trash for a week or two?
4. Send them nudes of upstatedoc ?

Unfortunately it's true. When I'm gone for a few months in the RV and then come back home I can barely stand it. Even driving is unbearable. Rarely ever even take the corvette out, more frustrating than anything else. We definitely have some of the worst drivers anywhere, especially the further south you go.

That being said I find MOST people in south Florida at least, are not native Floridians. Pretty rare down here to find a native Floridian.

I'm with you. We are here straight through until the 6th...or until my crew gets everything finished up for the plant to open back up that day.

My boss always asks me why I don't take the two week shutdowns off like all the other managers.....I tell him that I wouldn't have my guys doing anything that I wouldn't do myself.

Although they do get paid OT and I don't...but it's still the point of me being here with them that matters.
