The fundamentals are really really bad... you are about to have record unemployment, you almost have negative interest rates, you will have inflation due to a massive of amount of liquidity that was just injected... what will the airlines do with the money? They are laying people off left and right reducing capacity, I am not sure how the money is supposed to help anyone. There is a massive demand problem here.

I forsee a major tanking when people realize this is another fake prop up.
It's not doom and gloom, it's reality and you're 100% correct.

I have already pulled my money and ran. I did however buy my neighbors 2008 Camry this morning. He needed the cash and I was able to scoop it up for half of NADA value. Figure it will make for a good flip, or potential second car. Seems to run good.

I am seeing used car prices come down significantly in my area. I am in the Orlando area, tourism is 41% of the local economy. Am expecting them to come down even more.

Will be going back into the market when cases peak though, this time for the long haul, but who knows whats to come.

Which trading company do you all recommend for someone getting into stock investing? Specifically for low volume/hold long term. I'm about to set up an account and wait for the big dip and then just holding for long term capital gains and dividends.

Robinhood is probably the best option for you.

This is a loaded question man. Just invest in some ETFs for now such as SPY. Other than that I know new investors like to trade use robinhood. I've never used it, but you can try and read up on it.

What is the best company/site to use to buy and sell stocks? I am thinking about playing around with a small amount of money. Looking for low fees and ease of use.

Just google "$0 Commission Trades", plenty of places offer it nowadays.

For beginners...TD Ameritrade has a lot of options to chose from, and a very simple GUI or user interface.

Vanguard is the obvious answer here. They offer a host of low cost ETFs and mutual funds which make the most sense from a buy and hold perspective; most all other stocks/ETFs are available at zero cost as well.

The only thing I use Robinhood for is inverse/leverage trading...I wouldn't use this platform for long term holdings; it offers zero benefit to do so.

Well the house just passed the bill about 10 minutes ago. GOP dude from Kentucky tried blocking it (he had some solid reasons) but the house shut him down with some loophole. He was only delaying the inevitable.

hopefully we can some gains this afternoon. I don't want to stick around to see what happens Monday on wallstreet… news is just going to get worse this weekend

Almost most are 0 now, I believe we can thank Robinhood for starting that trend. Most brokers lost a lot of business and to keep up with it they had to offer the same.

As the number of cases increases over the weekend, I personally would've waited to see market reaction on Monday. I don't think we have bottomed out yet, but good luck and hopefully you make money on it!

I agree with you, I am prepared to take it long term if needed. Obviously I would welcome a nice short term gain but I can't imagine these companies not improving over the next 90-180 days. If I am wrong then shits real bad anyway I guess.

Disclaimer.

I am a total noob on doing something like this but decided it was a good (or maybe foolish) time to give it a go.

I just bought some NFLX as well.

I have time on my hands so this gives me something to study, grow and learn on.

Ive been trading recreationally for a few years and Id suggest at a time like this to just stick to ETFs unless youre ok losing big.
Single stocks are just a bigger risk. Have fun!

Everyone starts somewhere, no need to feel bad about it.

As far as Boeing the only issue I see is them not accepting the bailout due to some of the restrictions to get the bailout money that they didn't obviously want to follow. One week ago they wanted 60b in bailout and all off a sudden they now have enough cash to not need it? They do have future orders on planes and probably are getting low interest loans to last them for now.

There is just so much uncertainty with Boeing right now. Either it gets driven to the ground or comes roaring back long term. That is... if they can ever build planes that can actually FLY...

I don't anticipate the company ever going under though. But this will be an great one to follow and dive into if you can time it right.

Good luck and wish you the best on your positions!

To early IMHO. These companies have yet to realize losses on the next 1 - 2 quarterly earning results. More negatives to come. If you have ANY short term gain on these I would consider taking the small win or prepare to hold super long term.

The theory (you can call it a conspiracy one) is it's to attract as many 'retail' suckers as possible - regardless of brokerage,- and suck them dry using during turmoils like the one we have now.
