Need to paint match and seal holes in drywall
I had my bike mounted on here. After I was done I made two holes, and then i put tape over it cuz it looked ugly. I pulled the tape and the paint came off with it. My lease is almost up and I want to know is it possible to Paint Match this and plug the holes up so it looks like nothing ever happened? I just hope i get my security deposit back...... Thanks if you can reply and give me some tips!

The paint is going to be a little trickier. Most paint stores or HD or Lowes can match it if you have a sample. They usually want about one square inch minimum. Another possibility is to get ahold of the building manager and ask them if they have a little bit for touch-ups. If they're cool they'll give you enough to cover that small repair.

Paint the area, feather the new paint over the old paint for about a foot all around, not just dab wet paint on the repair area. Should be barely noticeable.

It depends on the style of anchor. If it's a toggle style then the piece in the wall will just fall to the floor inside the wall never to be seen again. If it's a split anchor you can probably just pull it out of the wall or tap it in to create the small hollow as mentioned above. The screw-in anchors can sometimes be unscrewed and other times you just tap them in as above.

You'll need to skim coat the area with some drywall mud. Then paint. But it looks like there is some texture to the wall. That'll be hard to match. Just ask your landlord how much it will cost. It may cost you nothing. Tenants can't be expected to not hang anything on the walls. You might just make things worse and piss off the landlord. Lol |

That looks like pealing paint from a poor prep job the last time it was painted. I'd argue with management if they tried to say that's your responsibility.

I still say it's poor prep job but the paint probably would have been ok if you hadn't had stickers there. Sand the rough edges and paint those spots when you fix the screw holes from the bike hanger. It's the same colour isn't it?

I'd try the same thing with those bigger bits. Cut off the rough edges (don't peel it beccause they'll get worse), lightly sand and feather the edges, use a fine skim coat of spackle, and sand until smooth. I've done a disturbing amount of wall repair and I find the key is to use a nearly dry foam brush, and dab the area repeatedly until covered. Good luck.

Well the good news is you have a nice tab of paint peeling off in the upper left corner of that top hole. Grab your razor knife and trim off a section about 1 inch x 1 inch and take it into your local paint store. they will scan it and make you up a quart of paint to match!
Before you paint you gotta do what everyone else is saying. Skim coat with drywall mud or patch compound, then paint. Watch some Youtube videos on how to do it. its seriously about the easiest thing in the world once you know what to do and buy. |

I'm glad to share my experience. As a landlord I've had to repair countless holes in walls, doors and even floors over the years. Believe me, those little spots you have are very minor and an easy repair. If you have any other questions, we'll help you out.
