yea, the door latch is messed up... one of the fuses in your glovebox is more than likely blown due to too much amperage being drawn by that latch. check fuse 57, if thats not blown 56 should be.. just replace the blown fuse for the time being. be sure to tell the service advisor that you checked the fuses and replaced the blown one so the tech doesnt get confused...

once you reinstall the door lock module ... u still need the dealer to reprogram the windows, otherwise they will go up and come back down half way ...

unless I have been lied to, I had same problem a while back and even posted a thread on this. Others have had similar issues. My SA told me there are more then 1 door latch assembly on my car and the driver's front was the one that was replaced on my car. So if what I was told is true, then it would be hard for you to know which door latch assembly is the bad apple. You can change the fuse (which I also did) and one week later after changing the fuse, it malfunctions again. So my final advice is just to get it fix by dealer asap and stop wasting time and money on fuse.

what do you mean one assembly controls all? There are 3 passenger doors for his e90 car and 1 driver's door. If one control all except passenger, then what control the passengers' 3 door? Do you know for certain how many door latch assembly on an e90?

To OP, the dealer will not just hand you a door latch assembly and allow you to walk out and have someone or yourself install it. The car is still under warranty and that is against warranty policy. What if you screw up the install and caused other problem as a result, who is responsible for the screwup 9surely not bmw because they did not get to install the door latch assembly under warranty.

my mistake ... i meant to say is that the driver door is the only door that has a manual unlock capability when the mechanism fails ...

Just had this happen to me today and did not have access to the forum to do some research...ARGH...so my car is sitting at the dealer and I am driving a POS Ford. This is the first time I am having any services done at Braman in West Palm Beach and I do not know of their reputation yet. What should I make sure they are doing? Anything I should be looking out for?
