You need to be connected to a power supply with 30A supply. Or jumper cables to a running car.
You need a cable that is capable of flashing not just a cheap cable. Bimmergeeks cable is known to be the best

Start there

It's almost impossible to brick the ECU. Let the car go into sleep mode by locking it and waiting a minute. Maybe reboot the device you had connected as well

I’m no expert but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. I did this a few years back with a Cobb tune. The vehicle died during uninstall. And I went through tooth and nails trying to get the car flashed back to stock. Dealer couldn’t communicate with it than I sent it to this other supposedly reputable mechanic that knows bmw here in my area and obviously he didn’t know a damn thing about it. He just sent my ecu off to be “rebuilt” was like $1100 each time. Each time you say? Well first time I got it back and running again I than tried to switch to mhd. And it failed to communicate with it. Lo and behold the incompetent mechanic said it’s bricked again and has to be sent out again. Costed me $2200 total. Now leaving the car stock, and still all my features aren’t all the way working some times. Cluster, ticking under glovebox sound, wipers getting stuck, etc. think it’s a bad Jbe or something idk.

I thought I had a good cable till I lost comunication to the whole car caused by a failed flash of the JBE. my car was out of action for two weeks.

What type of power supply do you have?

I said "Almost". Yours is a very rare situation.
