I am also new on this forum and need PM to be enabled. I am aware that some users are trying to get some benefits from forum and run. But, in my case, I need some information that I only can get through PM and I can not get this because it is disabled.
However I need to give some number of useful post, but as I said before I am new here and I do not have so much information on BMW (when I read topics on the forum I realize that I know just a little things), so, in my opinion, I can not give a lot of information for other people and from the other side it is silly to write posts without any kind of information just to get credit.

Thank you for reply vreihen16, but I don't have any intention to disrespect anyone here.

I have BMW with old maps (2013) year and because I am not familiar with updating maps procedure I try to find an instructions through web. As a result I find this forum and read topic about update (it was very useful), so now I have some inputs how to do this and final step is to get PM (it is disabled) with information that I need.

That is only reason I put post in this topic is because I believe that forums are there to help people if they want to solve a problem, and my goal is not to gain some reputation.

Been here over a year. Still no PM access. Although, I did have it and lost it due to a person or two abusing the report spam feature. Mod restored all my posts/threads, but forgot about the PM's. Obviously, no way to reply back to the Mod since I can't PM.

I don't want to spoil the party , but I would really avoid declaring my unwelcome wish for privacy here to reduce the wait time from indefinite to anything more acceptable. I did see a privacy sucker who went straight on bypassing this thread and just got what it wanted recently.

So many privacy lovers here! What about obtaining a privacy forum of your own?

...and I suspect that every "me too" or "cool" reply probably *decreases* someone's post count.

If you want immediate gratification and don't intend to continue contributing/participating in this community, I suggest checking out the mhhauto.com forums as they are the source of the information that you are seeking via PM.....

Well just providing info on the number of post required is not too much to ask, right? Sometimes you just want to DM people, which you could consider is also active participation. Free loading would be just browsing info without any sort of DM or posting.
