ynguldyn or hb,
apparently some dealers are telling some of our iX forum members that 2026 was the last year for iX and it has reached the end of its life. Indeed, currently, there are almost no allocations left for 2026 iX in the US. Do you know if it's because of a changeover to 2027 model year and iX will have its EOP on 06/2028 as reported in this thread or has iX been discontinued abruptly? |

ynguldyn Does a G58 model actually exist or will NA8 exclusively become the new LWB 3 series?
Not sure if you leave it out because of regional differences or it doesn't exist/the business case was canceled. Seems logical that they'd kill it. China is electrifying rapidly and NA8 is much more advanced to keep up with local competitors and tuned to Chinese tastes. If you still want a LWB ICE car, you have the LWB 2 Series and 5 Series. Plus they keep dropping price on ICE model in the market and are looking to simplify number of offerings overall. Last edited by Sudtirol; 03-12-2026 at 10:48 AM.. |

Per the leak on the BMW USA parts page it looks like the iX 45 will not get a 2027 model likely because the first iX5 will replace it. The other ones likely get phased out as the faster iX5s get released.

May not mean anything as this was probably a global change, but the 2026 iX is still in the refreshed BMWUSA web configurator that seems to have been rolled out in the past couple of days.

Yes, it’s in the configurator but there are no 2026 allocations left in the US and some existing 2026 production orders which had an assigned production week are being flipped to status 105 (no production week). So, either iX is being discontinued or BMW is preparing to switch to 2027 MY. Although it seems kind of early for the switchover as 2027 was expected to start production in June.

Any indication that BMW would switch NCAR BEV models to a 800V architecture at some point, or is that not something you can see? Or are they just going to sit tight till the i5 and i7 are on NCAR?
Edit: Oh, @Erebor claimed the iX5 would get 800V (but not i5/i7 LCI) in https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...postcount=2438 |
