Driver's side floormat moves too much, dealer said it is too old

Is anyone experiencing any problems with their driver's side floormat? I find that it moves around too much. Several months back, the dealer replaced the velcro element of the floormat, but this time when I went to another dealership, they said that the floormat is too old and it needs to be replaced. Does that sound right to you? The car has about 27,500 miles.

Thanks in advance!

When I bought my '07 335i with 51K miles, the drivers floormat was pretty shot. It had a permanent bend/bubble under the pedal area. I found a used drivers mat locally thru the forum that was in good shape, then went to the craft store Michael's and bought some velcro stick-on pads for about $2. Put a couple velcro pads on both ends of the floormat, and it's been fine since.

What???! A dealership saying something needs to be replaced without looking at it, and two dealerships saying two different things? No way, that's not true.

My floor mat does the same thing. I even re-glued the velcro pads, and it's acting up again. Sometimes it even interferes with my pedal action. I didn't think to try and get it replaced under warranty.

Yeah, mine also curled up after 5 years and 42k miles. I tried the velcro thing but it still curled up after a week. So I cut the top 4 inches (the curled part) off. Problem solved for free. No one can hardly notice, who looks at the top part of the floor mat.

No, both dealerships looked at the floor mat. The first one looked at it and replaced the velcro element. Three months later, the floor mat seem to start acting up again, and I took it to a second dealership to look at it. My SA at the second dealership did not even call me to talk about the floor mat, and just put on my service invoice to advice me to change the floor mat because it is getting too old. Not sure if that sounds like nonsense.

My basement. I threw the box with unused carpeted mats down there and that's where they've been for 4 1/2 years. What garbage.

You mean the guy who makes $80,000 after 2 1/2 yrs. on the job thanks to the union? The guy who gets $35,000/yr. from his pension when he retires? Well, at least he can't afford a BMW on that measly pay.

I bought WeatherTech floor mats. They come with anchors so they never move around. Sure, they're not carpet, but they protect my floor from all the watery nastiness quite nicely!
