I should get royalties every time someone takes the trim off using the "butter knife method"... There's no fog in Phoenix, but I love having these lights edit: and remind me to NEVER drive around you when you're modding..holy CRAP!

Okay, this question is probably somewhere inside this thread but DAMN there's 16 pages! lol
ok SOOO quick question: How are these rear fog lights activated? When the FRONT fogs are on....these go on too? OR...is there a special way to turn them on JUST when we want to annoy drivers behind us. I love my front fogs...and I always keep them on even during the day. I wouldn't want the rears to be on too when my fronts are...So can I turn the Rears on whenever I want?...and Turn them off too?

There's a separate button on the unit that controls the rear lights. You can drive with front fogs on and rear off. My car also allows me to go rear on with front off...some cars reportedly don't allow that. Look at the OPs original pics...the bottom button is for the rear fogs and the top is for the front. 55.00 buys you a whole rpleacement unit.

Just wanted to thank OP brianly and WilyB for great DIY !
did mine no prob and it only took 10 min. and no damage anywhere Guess I 'll be using my rear fog light in an actual fog and for backing up in the dark / congested areas and to warn the tailgaters to back off... although my first inclination would be to leave 'em in the dust.

i have used both.. they really help when backing out. I think they will help when parking on street in the city to make pedestrians aware

Just did this retrofit last night (along with the rear center console mod).
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great info on doing this DIY, and especially to the OP for a great writeup! For the record, I can turn on the rear fogs by themselves only if the headlights are on (ie, if the headlight switch is set to Automatic or Headlights). If the switch is on the Position Lights setting, then I have to turn the front foglights on first before I can turn on the rear foglights.

While you don't have to buy the switch you can mod your existing one. I prefer having the euro switch, it lights up (where the fog light button is). I guess it is a matter of preference. I just like things to look as original as possible.
I still think it is a great find...to the person who opened up the switch and figured out what needs to be done to make the switch work. I just like the look of the Euro switch.

but I don't see what looks right or wrong....but to each its own I guess is like having a M car with the "M" badge...the euro switch with the "rear fog icon"

now those of use with the euro switch can get all "hotty-totty" and look down our noses at those who simply modded their NA switches.
