I dropped mine off at noon and they're keeping it overnight. Granted I believe I'm also getting a brake flush done. Still, don't know what's the hold up.

I received both an email and telephone call from my dealer about the recall last weekl, and booked an appointment for Monday, with free loaner. They say it takes 3 hours.

Taking mine in next Tuesday due to electrical issues that I believe might be related to the recall. Getting a loaner so I'm guessing it's not a quick job.

I've never received a recall letter but I made an appointment early this week to have my oil changed and the receptionist who booked my appointment also informed me of the battery cable recall and they would replaced it at the same time

Did anyone get a letter? I haven't yet, but it sounds like I just have to call dealership...

I got the recall letter yesterday. I wonder if that could be the reason behind this
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=663396 since I also experienced it once or twice. |

lol wtf, yeah I picked my car up today. No complaints because I got an F30 loaner. I did have my brake fluid changed as well.

It has nothing to do with a free battery. Nor does it affect the life of the battery. There is no reason for you to get a free battery.
The part that is getting replaced is the connector on the B+ cable that plugs into the back of the Junction Box (fuse box) which is behind the glove box. Some of the old cable is cut off and a new cable pigtail on the B+ with a revised connector gets installed to the fuse box. You will get your letters. You will all not get them at the same time. BMW sends them out in waves. If they sent them all at once the dealers would be too flooded. If you are that worried, just call your dealer and they will tell you if it applies to your car or not. |
