For everyone doing this upgrade, is one of the symptoms of worn caliper bushings a click when first applying brakes? My gf's 09 328 has a single click in drivers front (sounds like) wheel when you first apply the brakes that I CANNOT find.
I don't believe it to be suspension related because it only does it under braking. |

apply brakes > shift to drive > click > noise gone during forward braking > stop > apply brakes > shift to reverese > click > etc... I looked for evidence of pad shifting but everything appears tight. looks like hers are akebono pads as well... http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-328...its/ES2777077/ |

Just poor design in my opinion.

I am thinking my caliper bolts aren't torqued down completely to spec so what I was hearing was the caliper grabbing the rotor and either moving up or down prob only a mm or .5mm I was doing a bunch of wheel/wheel well related work and retorqued one side down to see if it helped and now I think I only hear it on the other side. Will torque the rest down soon enough to see if solves the problem completely. Pads Cool Carbon (front and rear)

http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/tsb/odyssey/04-019.pdf Here's an old thread on here about it: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109402 I haven't experienced any of that with either stock or current Hawk HPS 5.0 pads ever though. |

Just wanted to give a quick update on these bushings. I had been holding out installing the rear bushings to see if the front bushing revision would be available soon. I finally decided to install the rear bushings and they make a noticeable difference, even just on the rear brakes. I can't wait to get a set on the fronts when they are re-designed.
I have to say, they are a REALLY tight fit in the calipers. I cleaned the caliper out with a Dremel bit until they were totally clean. I still had to knock a bit off the outside for some of the bronze bushings with a Dremel and press them in using a caliper spreader as a make-shift press. It could be just some variations in the original batch, but the outer diameter of the bushings were not consistent. That is, one bushing would slide in easily with just hand pressure, whereas a different bushing in the same caliper hole wouldn't at all. However, once they are installed, they are great. I'm hoping the version for the front is available soon. Just putting around normally you won't really feel anything different, but I could tell a noticeable increase in pedal feel and firmness at threshold braking. They are a win in my book.

Thanks for the feedback David! Sorry we had to pull those fronts, the redesign is currently underway, but sadly no ETA for completion.

Bumping for an update since it's been a few months. I'm not in a rush on these but curious on if they'll be back in stock at some point. Still showing as back ordered on the ECS site.

I think George_SK got the last sets and they stop selling them as front turn out to be to short and rear to long. I was able to make them work temporarily but he eventually caved in and bought f30 335i brakes.

My car has OEM BMW pads and rotors on it from the previous owner. They have a decent amount of life left in them. I'm mostly at the point of planning what to do when they wear out, or at least get closer to wearing out. Also apparently I may have to reevaluate which pads I eventually go with based on some comments in another thread. |

Yeah, Redstuff and Yellowstuff are craps... They won't even last a weekend on the rear axle once you are pushing the cars, let alone the front. Get real track pads for track and be done with it.
